"Porsche is putting the finishing touches on the 911 GT3 RS as our spies have caught a handful of prototypes undergoing testing in Northern Europe. Based on the 911 GT3, the RS variant has a familiar design but is distinguished by a muscular hood, ventilated front fenders and a double bubble roof. The car also has a new rear bumper, a revised engine cover and a sporty rear wing. Last but not least, we can see lightweight wheels and rear fenders from the 911 Turbo. Porsche has been coy on specifications but the model is expected to use a 3.8-liter six-cylinder engine that develops at least 515 PS (378 kW). It will likely be connected to a specially-tuned PDK transmission which will enable the model to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in less than 3.5 seconds. The 911 GT3 RS is expected to debut at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, so we should learn more in the coming months."

Also of interest I was quoted by a Porsche employee 515 PS/bhp as the output with no mention of capacity. Ive previously quoted that here and elsewhere on this board.
Although I believe we have had enough confirmation from those close to good sources (Bob the administrator etc) that this is a 4.0L engine,I should think it could be a considerable upset if indeed it were 3.8 as stated in this article.
In the early days Apolo on Pistonheads claimed he had seen the car at PAG Stuttgart and when the engine recall happened he calimed to have been told that the new engine had borrowed some parts (one assumes the rod pins) from the GT3RS and infact they were now virtually detuned RS engines.
If a gun was to my head I would say its 4.0L, thats what has been told to many I trust....

I think the car looks gorgeous in every angle! I may be odd man out here, but I love the look of the hip vents borrowed from the Turbo. I saw a white Turbo S today and it looked sublime. I'm imagining the 3RS is going to look fantastic in white with the vents giving contrast. I also have a feeling the RS will be sans graphics and let the body work do the talking to let you know it's an RS instead of the graphics. I gauge this based on the lack of graphics on the Toy RS that accidentally leaked the shape early. The toy has been spot on in every way, thus I'm believing that it's lack of graphics will carry over to the real car. Though, I'd love to see old style RS graphics like on the 997.1 3RS, but I don't see them revisiting them again.

For what it's worth, I know someone who was at the factory a few weeks ago to spec his 918. He asked if there was any info available on the new RS, and the only info he got was it would be 4.0 litres.

The 991 RS will be the most hardcore least street-friendly RS to date, if AP has kept to his word, which was essentially that because the 991 GT3 is so street friendly it allows them to go more extreme with the new RS - further than they have been before... PARTY TIME boys

I am surprised by some of the comments. AC and radio delete? Hopeless resale. Want to save 40 lbs, go to the gym
Want to save weight in the car, remove the AC components and put them in a safe place.
Anyone who has attended a DE in my region (Rennsport) has seen just how many GT3 RS are used as track cars in the Instructor and advanced group. Dozens of them all running Michelin slicks.
I don't care how it looks, it's all about performance. My 997.2 RS has one option - alcantera sun visors. Why? Because it's easy to remove those awful airbag stickers. Saves 30 grams of weight

lies in the far more effective Wing on the RS, and not the small weight saving.
