Other than the warranty, which you could add to the 991, there are many that prefer the 991 to the 992. I sold my 992 and kept my 991. I liked it better for many reasons. So it’s not so crazy to do that.

If someone actually drove that car 5k miles, the value drop off vs driving that Oslo car an additional 5k miles would be pretty stark.
I am sorry, but buying 5 year old GT3 with 252 miles on it is dumb. Halfway through a decade in service and you aren't 1/4 of the way through break in miles. The car will be 20 years old before it reaches break in. That's just dumb.

Rubber hoses will be dry or dry rotting, spark plugs will get seized to the block, oil is unlikely to be changed annually.. the various mechanical systems of the car are designed to be used, and when they aren't the systems will break down. Unless you plan to put the car in a nitrogen bubble and never turn it on again at this point, just why?

The short answer is "speculation", but that's a waste on a 2018 GT3. This isn't PTS, doesn't have PCCB. It is just another GT3 that has never been used.

It wasn't terribly long before 993 values eclipsed the 996.

Not to say the 991 -> 992 transition is anything remotely similar to 993>996, but it's somewhat analogous. The mechanically "inferior" car is preferred for aesthetic and subjective reasons - looks and feel.

agree exactly - seems to have been bought to speculate on but it's entirely the wrong example to speculate with.

Who knows, but Porsche clearly underpricing. Speculate base RS could be at least $300k and they'd sell every one. Weissach & high spec'd examples upper 300's, apparently they'd sell no problem.

I'm the driving type you're referring to in a subsequent post, not an investor like you once were. (You know, selling when you thought market was peak ) Ironically, reason I find the value doom commentary absurd is specifically because of what these cars can do. Idea that this level of performance driving privilege should be considerably less than current market is fantasy. No one who becomes well acquainted with what 991.2 will do thinks they're overpriced, you probably included. If you really got the most out of your 991.2 RS, then you don't think it's a 150k car, please...

need some honest numbers because i haven't been on top of this market-- getting ready to sell the 991.1 RS. This was a check the box purchase for my 60th birthday and I have loved it for the thousand miles or so I put on it but my eye is wandering to a wingless manual variety for my next check the box.
The car is Riviera Blue and has high miles at least from what i read as to the standards on here--it has 17,800 miles. Nice build (pccb, buckets, fal, etc) and full PPF so the paint is pristine. Interior clean and the buckets show no wear at all. Steering wheel alcantara is perfect (I think the previous owner wore gloves). Stock except for a yellow rollbar the prior owner installed for cars n coffee "looks" per the installer who I spoke with. No indicia top or bottom of any track use. In fact, it has original tires with 2016 build dates (I have new cup 2s that have not been installed but will go with it). No history records as the prior dealer tossed them. I am doing an oil change, air filters and brake flush before sale as I consider myself to be a steward of these cars while in my possession and want to be a good steward for the next owner. The rollbar installer told me the car was serviced regularly but could not contact the owner and thus would not release the records to me or the dealer i bought from -- even if the name was redacted. I did have the frame eval done which was clean and it has a clean carfax. Not a problem with the car at all. It did come with some Salter uprights and GT2 wing end plates that I replaced with stock items from Suncoast (I like them as they come from the factory--again i am old fashioned).
So what is it worth? $190-195K? You will NOT hurt my feelings with any response. I am considering sending it to West Coast exotics to sell...there or graham rahal--both seem like easy options--thoughts on those folks also welcome. thanks

I'd try putting it on BAT, seems they sell very well there, last few RS' sold for about $180+

example, sold $186k: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/20...911-gt3-rs-49/

What is your definition of ‘similar prices’ ? Because there’s a solid 40K-50K spread between similar spec 991.2 vs. 992 GT3s from what I’m seeing…

not to mention size. Porsche are losing me on the 911 with each generation and it’s all I ever dreamed about. The cayman platform is the new 997 in size
