Just saw a PCCB, FAL, 210k MSRP 37k mile 991.1 3RS trade for 165k. Needed rear bumper touch ups and PPF replaced(whole car PPFed). Guess its not easy to move a high mileage RS.

Why would it need rear bumper touch ups?

991.1s dont do well in general due to the motor. But still a 7-8 year old car, almost 40k miles 20% below msrp? That’d be pretty impossible in any other brand.

Good barometer if FAL impacts value.

All these low mileage 991.1's 3RS's asking 200ish+ though. Large discrepancy between sub 10k miles and 37k miles.

Looked like he bumped something in his garage that went through the PPF. But yeah I passed because the jury still seems to be out on the 991.1 3RS motors so made me not want it.

I'm told that 991.1 3RS is a bit soft compared to 991.1 GT3, whereas the 991.2 3RS is the closest to being a cup car. So for me, .2 3RS is the one to have, and .1 3RS isn't a substitute for it.

I’m not a dealer but have friends who are and have access to the MMR site information. I don’t bug them often but do check in periodically to see how the 3RS numbers are trending.

That is a handsome car....perfect build and about as subtle as a 3RS WP can get!

Not for me…put 30k miles on 2 cars. And they were hard miles. Not one single issue.

Perception because of the .2 updates imo --

With updated electronics and a redesigned exhaust system, the GT3 RS produces 520-horsepower @ 8,250 rpm and 346 lb-ft of torque @ 6,000 rpm.

...upgraded pistons and rings, a solid valve train with shims, a stiffer crankshaft, thicker connecting-rod bearings, and plasma-coated cylinder liners.

Would you have/trust the .1 RS 4.0 over just about any other motorsport derived engine? You would. just not as much as the .2 4.0.

Agreed. But I’ve seen a few .2 RS motors eat those valve shims. Buddy has his sitting at the dealership now, on its second engine. 18k miles. First one ate a shim at 2k miles. Engine rebuilt, apparently using the original oil pump (come on, PCNA) and it went again in August. Been a bit of a cluster to get it fixed, thankfully was under CPO.

Has this happened to any non RS .2 GT3's to anyone's knowledge? Also, happened to any manual GT3s? Curious how prevalent this is.
