Too many of these cars are available now and down the road to accept one with stories, which like icebergs, are always deeper than what’s visible.

I mean that 3k mile pts carmine which I thought looked amazing went for a few k over 200. If they get 200 for that they should feel good in todays market
Carfax shows moderate damage to front end of vehicle. Thats the most severe damage report I've seen without having a branded title since on my hunt. Not sure why they're listing this at such a high price.

2016 PORSCHE 911 GT3 RS

Wonder if this is the same car. Probably is. They’re out of their minds with that ask.

I really love the "grey" color on the RS...and that Carmine was beautiful as well and I was surprised by that result as I thought it would go higher. Speaking from my own "throw out the rule book" experience", I wanted a particular color and I freely admit that in hindsight really not much else mattered -- including common sense, "market" value etc. People do funny stuff with money all the time...and the PTS cars seem to invoke a lot of emotion that sometimes takes the place of many other objective criteria. But...I still look back after parking mine so there's that...and the fact that I personally have spent money on far worse endeavors.

Carmine really is an epic color on the RS, that one looked stunning
Maybe time to put your Riviera blue on BAT given that looney result on the 997.2 gt3 that just sold there

Riviera blue may be the most sought after PTS color on the market right now

It's a clean 992.2 GT3 RS, but man it's vanilla. All it needed is the rubber dash, and 18 way seats to make it a true vanilla!

That being said I'd trade it for my 991.1 GT3 RS amazing spec any day.
This one was a nicer spec, actually went under MSRP before premium

For sure. I'd rather have the silver one, even if prices were the same.

Probably only PTS low mile cars will see stupid high valuations like that ($299k ask, seriously?)

Standard color 991.2 Touring with real world miles (ie owned by someone who actually drove the damn thing) will probably be a lot lower valuation and generally not above a 992 GT3, IMO (though possible if the 992 has similar mileage). Maybe some years in the future, when the 992 is also an older model, we'll see the 991.2 GT3T consistently outpace the 992.

I remember at one point UV 991.1 RS' were too ubiquitous but that's reversed now. I would be happy with either silver or green!

Forgive my ignorance. Are all of these cares with roll cages aftermarket? I thought I read somewhere factory roll cages were not allowed on US cars? Unless things changed?

You are correct. All US cars have aftermarket roll bars. The US DOT will not allow road cars to be delivered with with roll bars as it's a safety issue for a non helmet wearing driver. US Department of Transportation / National Highway Traffic Safety Administration rules & regulations. As interpreted by Porsche, it prevents the fitment of 'race track' roll bars to a street vehicle imported into the US

Is it really the DOT or is it Porsche lawyers? After all BMW has delivered cars with a factory roll bar here in the US.
