The 991 GT3/RS Cars For Sale Thread...
#8956
there are deals out there to be had, you just keep vigilant, make offers and see what happens. I bought 2 months ago 992 GT3, PTS Grey Black, buckets, steel, PDK, full leather interior, carbon roof, CPO til 2029 for $20k over msrp, that’s what I call a deal and I’m enjoying the car! So don’t settle and play the waiting/guessing game, might take ages, life is short, but if you shopping for car at $200-250k, is $10k really gonna hold you back a year?

Why do the strippers seem to command a higher premium over MSRP compared to the high option/MSRP cars in the .2? I was more inclined to go with a low MSRP .2 but then pivoted as it seems you can get a highly optioned .2 closer to MSRP and potentially easier to re-sell down the road if you chose to do so.

Had a chance to try my 991.2 3RS on a proper track yesterday. Fantastic car. These things are worth more than $200k, and Porsche will never make a 911 like that again. Mark my words, the car will be a coveted classic. I think that prices aren't ever going down substantially and the price trend will be up.

have you driven a 992 gt3 or rs? I havent......but the interior seems plasticky to me in pictures/videos. As for the front suspension, seems hard to beat. And the rear of the 992 has a bigger diffuser which i kinda like. Dont get me wrong....im very happy with my 991.2 rs. I think i like the analog more just going by pictures/videos.
3RS was at factory setup with minimum aero downforce and the front Cup 2 tires were aged, so the car was understeering somewhat on the power at corner exits. GT3 was at track alignment and max downforce for aero, front and rear Cup 2 tires not aged but pretty worn.
I enjoyed the 3RS at lot more. Feels lighter, communicates what it's doing more clearly, more responsive to driver input, and sounds better. With both cars at optimal setup and good fresh tires, maybe the differences I perceived would be different, and I think both cars would deliver a similar lap time, but I still predict that I would enjoy the 3RS more. 3RS feels more like a cup car cousin, GT3 feels like it's engineered to go faster but softer and less driver involvement.

I have both a 991.2 3RS and 992 GT3, and tracked them both yesterday.
3RS was at factory setup with minimum aero downforce and the front Cup 2 tires were aged, so the car was understeering somewhat on the power at corner exits. GT3 was at track alignment and max downforce for aero, front and rear Cup 2 tires not aged but pretty worn.

Adjustment to full aero doesn't resolve exit understeer. Fresh tires of course, and set the rear sway to stiff. Just try it. Won't bite.

Even with the understeer, the car is a joy to drive on track, even when not near the limit.

Same take, 991.2 RS is all-time great, currently undervalued, never to be duplicated. It's for sure the best car I own other than the 991.2 manual.
Considering ownership on an experiential basis, there are no other cars I'd rather own for the cumulative price point.
Considering ownership from an asset/value retention standpoint -- if I just stopped using and parked them -- there are very few other cars I'd feel better owning for the cumulative price point. (Although, strong condition 458 Italia/Spider also a no brainer buy in the 991.2 RS range.)
991.2 is have your cake and eat it too automotive material. Sorry, naysayers, all the hype was and still is legit.

Tires alone may fix it. Front tires are almost 3 years old, rear tires a few months old. Pro driver agreed with me that the front tires are the reason for the understeer, not the setup.

Kidding... do your thing. Glad you're enjoying and had the privilege of running both on the same day. Pretty awesome.
