what’s the story with this foreign affair Motorsport guy? Seems like he runs some Indy dealer paying market price or more for cars…
talking a little trash to the other bidder lol
I don’t know how this guys business is still operating, the amount of time this guy burns pumping up cars (approaching 1k bids and over 1k comments) on bat to win almost nothing (9 wins) is truly astonishing. And when he does win I have no idea how he makes any money trying to find someone to pay more than he did.
I think his time would be better spent trolling autotrader

If his bid of 241k won out, would have made 10k+ on the flip as things are trending.
250k with 5 days left, strong result for a lizard with > as new mileage.

Like I've said for awhile, I'm not sure what it is about GT3 ownership that precipitates such an avalanche of life problems such that they are a. 'forced' to flip a car in high demand for a handsome profit or b. fail to follow through with purchases. Oh well - the seller must've been over the moon with the hammer price the first time and now has to go through the process again.

“Unfortunately, due to ailing parent, I am unable to complete the transaction. Seller (Holt) was a pleasure to deal with and will be relisting the vehicle.“ -buyer
if we took the Avalanche of issues stories that follow buying a gt3 at face value…..it would clearly be the worst decision anybody could make in their lives![hiha](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/roflmao.gif)
I hope the guy who backed out is doing alright, I’m sure he’s not happy about it and might be out the 5k which would suck. Hate to see people what can’t afford something because of x or y reason then lose more money

I see folks on lots of auctions who have bid on hundreds of cars. They come in once or twice a day tossing low ball bids on cars they will never win or buy. It's pretty odd but BAT seems to be ok with it.

They have some skin in the game because they charge your credit card a small amount 5-10% immediately. You get a refund only once somebody outbids you. Bat is 5% and pcarmarket is 10% I think.

It would be at lot less interesting if only bids above a reserve price were allowed. Plus, at live auctions there's always someone raising there paddle at $10k then $20k at cars that sell for $150k+
I sometimes ask a question about a car that I'm just genuinely interested in knowing more about, and if I get an informative answer I'll put in a bid as a "tip" to the seller or platform. Valuable info that costs no more than a hold on my CC and at a level if I win I'm thrilled.

Looks like West Coast Exotics Cars is now bidding on this too. They buy cars from auction then toss them on the site for 30K more. Did it with a .1 yellow Gt3 last month that's on their site. Honestly the whole market is f'ed because of these auction sites. Need a big reset.

Apparently people with bags of cash spending like No tomorrow! Some of my local dealers are saying things have been slowing. Used car interest rates are astronomical at this point. Was just looking at a 991.2 GT3 for sale in the Classifieds (hello if you see this …beautiful spec BTW) that he had a link to what he paid 10-2020 for $157k with 3k miles …now car has like 8.7k miles and wants $190k… more power to ya! … thinking next year will be a different story with Recession and more and more 991 GT3s hitting the market with 992s hitting for delivery. Across the board car auction prices are coming down thinking next year deals or sensible prices to be had.
