Some data points....
- Porsche hennessey had a shark blue Turbo S with 418 miles. Originally listed for $320k ($75k over MSRP), after several price reductions I think I sold for $13k over (last reduction was down to $15k over).
- Norwell had a speedster that was listed $429k, came down to $349k and they were ready to sell it for $329k
- Brand new Turbo S fresh off the track sold for $6k over at another dealer
- GT3s with 10k miles are "trading" at $20k below msrp (as in if you want to sell yours to the dealer).

Because people do stupid things. They'll spend $1M remodeling a house that they purchased for a $1M only to sell it for $1.6M to buy a $2.5M house (real story). This is a totally different generation. They just don't care.

When I bought my TTS in 2021, I bought it with a discount. Times have since changed and I doubt I could buy that same car on discount. Probably MSRP at best. It depends on your accessibility to a dealer that doesn't push ADMs and being in a market that's not overly competitive. Your prior purchase history also counts and whether you are trading in another high value car.
In other words, there are a lot of factors that go into it and it's not just the guy who paid an ADM is a clueless mark.
Personally, I would not pay an ADM to buy a TTS (not that I'm looking). That also means I may have priced myself out of that market. Which is fine.

Because you are likely the exception.

I bought my Cayenne GTS at a 7% discount when they were being marked up $20-30k over MSRP in the peak of the car market. This is a fact. I also bought my Turbo S @ MSRP when they were being marked up substantially (and I positioned myself as such I had 2 more MSRP Turbo S allocations that became available that I turned down). I have an incoming C8 Z06 @ MSRP.
I don't think I am exception because I am amazing. Absolutely not. I might be an exception that I don't follow the herd behavior.

Everything is relative. Exception how? Exception because the herd behavior of our population is as such we don't mind how much we overspend? Or because he has done his homework and and negotiated?

It stinks, but some of this is luck. If you have a good local dealership and are in a favorable market, you will get a better deal. It's harder to get a deal from a dealership outside your local territory. Dealers are rewarded for local sales - it's in their interest to do so.

Previously mentioned Miami Blue gt3rs with 207 miles at Chicago motorcars for $319k. It’s been listed for awhile without it physically being at their dealership because it was supposedly sold prior to transport from collector in California. But apparently 2 buyers backed out so it finally arrived(guess buyers saw writing on the wall). Why would you spend $80k over msrp on a 4 year old RS when the new ones will be around that price or slightly higher?

also, the Canadian 991.2 GT3 RS sold for 203k + ~10-15k for importing costs iirc
again, Randy made a God tier trade, good for him. I dunno why he is so fussed about beating the market.
