Yes, with a $15k cherry on top. Maybe this dealer will provide a DME unlike the private guy.

They’ll get it too. We are going into spring and summer. That’s when people start foaming at the mouth to get something new to enjoy during the beautiful months. Also, remember 991 and 992 are completely two different animals. Saying that the 991 prices are going to take a major hit because the 992 has been out is not necessarily true. I don’t like the 992 and much prefer the 991 except in the TTS trim where I prefer the 992. And I have quite a few friends that feel the same as I do.

I respectfully disagree. Private guy started at $285 and got down to $245 over 6-9 months and it didn't sell. If my memory serves me correctly, there have been quite a few Touring sales during this time and none were even ASKING $260 other than the grigio telesto car at Merit. Merit said the seller (consigned) would take $250, and that car had a $220+ msrp, full ppf, $8k aftermarket wheels and a $2k GMG pipe. So, I think $260 for a $185 black car is wishful thinking. I don't disagree with the 991 vs 992 debate - but 991s aren't going UP in price, they just aren't falling as fast as the 992 or as fast as a few on this thread are hoping.

That merit partners PTS was fire. I would have bought that one if I hadn’t just pulled the trigger on my PTS about a month earlier. Although I’m a stock guy don’t like to mod so in the end I’m pleased with the one I got albeit higher mileage than the Merit one.

It was fn awsome - I told my wife I was buying it even at full asking price ($267ish) because I thought it would be gone in a day or two if I didn't. After a few days of trading texts and emails I was getting the vibe my patience would work to my benefit. That few days turned into a few weeks and I starting second guessing the car - why hasn't anyone bought it yet???? Decided to mull it over during Christmas vacation. Got back and they said the first $250 takes - dragged my feet too long and they sold it about 4-5 days later. Still kicking myself for that one.

I think it’s fair to say 991 Tourings have peaked. They are holding stronger than I thought, that said.

It will be very interesting to see where 991 vs 992 Touring values will end up, say 20 years from now. It wouldn’t shock me if the 991 ends up more valuable. This would not necessarily have anything to do with how the cars drive but rather its significance in the 911 history. 991 is the first modern Touring and only available in manual transmission.

Aesthetics could also impact long term value - which ends up being the more timeless design?

I don’t think that value 20 years from now is a reason to get a 991 over a 992 but it’s interesting to me to speculate.

How about the sound? OPF does the 992 no favors... and, I think its safe to assume, each succeeding gen will sound worse or be silent (shudder).

Fair to say many of us here, myself included, harbor some bias. I wonder what they say in the 992 GT forum. Do they rave about the double wishbone, ring time and individual throttle bodies? I don't spend time over there, just curious.

^Of coursed they do- double wishbones are the amazing suspension innovation that makes turn in sharper, crisper and FASTER. Individual throttle bodies make each millimeter of throttle travel standout so you can meter the power in fine single horsepower increments…blah, blah, blah.

I’m just bitter because none of my dealers came through for me, LOL!

I’ve heard mixed things comparing the cars. No doubt the 992 GT3 is very good. Every generation of GT3 is very good. The one thing I know is that with any 911 generation change, something is gained and something is lost.

^Buy a 991.2 GT3 vs. 992 GT3:

Gain:
- Save at least $50-75K
- Same HP (almost)
- Analog instrumentation
- Slightly smaller dimensions
- Quieter interior (marginally)
- Smoother styling in and out (totally subjective of course!!)

Loose:
- New Vehicle warranty
- Latest tech interior electronics
- Latest bragging rights and Porsche royalty status at Cars and Coffee and PCA meets
- Some speed on track
- Individual Throttle bodies
- Dual Wishbones
- Better aero
- Dealer relationship points for next GT car

I say this very very sincerely. If somebody gifted me a 992 GT3 today, I would sell it and buy a 991 GT3. After having owned a 992 TTS, I realized how much I value the 991 interior and overall dimensions as well as physical appearance.

Default Wanted:2019 GT3RS

I am in the market for 2019 GT3 RS, but I care for Weis package or PCCB brakes. If you got something for current market price, please shoot me a DM.

Thank you

No affiliation, came across this new listing but wasn’t what I was looking for. Thought I’d share. I called and spoke with Edgar, 305-457-4352

Pretty good list.

The only thing that really interests me about the 992 GT3 is the double wishbone front end. There is a lot, otherwise, that I prefer about the 991. Hard not to have confirmation bias, though.
