Seems like the .1 will always cause reservations. Understandably so. $135 for this spec and mileage seems even low.

It is. The car will sell for quite a bit more than that.

I think it is a $145k car, maybe $150k? Nice example, would go for big bucks on BaT with the low miles. But I still think the 991.1 GT3 to find is one with the motor replaced. And 2016 motors do go, the G0 on my 2016 went at 17k miles.

Not to me it wouldn’t. Out of warranty with a known motor issue that I would have to consider and deal with if I were to sell. Not worth it in the least to me.

Weren’t the 2016s exempt from the motor issues?

No. They have G series motors but they still fail. G6 wasn’t put into circulation until 2017 ish.

Remember, there's some people who believe the engine thing is a complete non-starter and have the pockets and/or prioritization to spend more - so the 991.1 has zero or little value that customer anyway. And that's understandable.

I say this as one of the bigger loudmouth's for the .1 on here - given the warranty expiration quickly approaching, I would tread lightly on picking one up at a premium without the G6 in place. Unfortunately, it does cast a little bit of a storm cloud over your ownership experience (or at least it did for me).

I know waiting for 911's to go down is historically one of the dumber strategies; but with that hard date quickly approaching there should likely be some interesting opportunities for those with a little risk appetite.

In selling my car, I have had a coupe people question the engine replacement. That made them uneasy. Made me wonder who is spending ~$150k and not done any research on these cars. IMO if you are shopping for one with an original motor, you are a hell of a gambler.

Exactly this...its hard for RL'ers to understand how this could be--but there are LOTS of buyers out there who have various reasons for shopping these cars who don't care to take the time to research any of these things--they see a car they like and they buy it. No considerations for anything other than scratching that itch. My neighbor is one of these. He has an abundance of wealth, doesn't keep cars for long, and simply does not care about getting into the minutiae if you will of any legacy problems with one model or another, or what it may ultimately cost him on trade or resale. Must be nice --but I also feel that on occasion I get paralysis by analysis on some of these issues--meanwhile my neighbor is enjoying the hell out of his cars and moves along. Just my thoughts.

Flip side--especially as prices settle down--is that the right 991.1 GT3 (motor replaced, known history) may be the best buy of the GT3 cars. Especially as a track car, and especially if 997s don't come all the way down to earth if prices overall relax.

Spot on. I think you are on to something with that. I would have to agree.

That's silly. Maybe if it were a 2018 .2 but that's bloated for a .1
