He came back to me yesterday and said that after consulting some friends and dealers that the right price is $200k for it. I didn’t respond.
What a schmuck. After seeing his 458 comments, I can see he pulled the same shenanigans for both cars. Bid on it first, then I'll show you what you asked for...too late then. The $200K price is fair IF sold by a dealer not private sale. Hopefully his shady records will follow him around on BAT to warn others.
There's a big disconnect between buyers and sellers currently from what it looks like. Sellers seeing all the ones listed at the asking prices and thinking they can get the same while buyers see those same ones for sale for months at a time with no movement and refuse to pay those prices. Dealers seem to actually still be offering strong $ in terms of trade in but have also heard some dealers canceling offers if you take too long since market is softening.
I agree and I think part of that disconnect is that the buyers are WAY more time-invested and informed on what the vehicles are actually selling for vs the sellers just looking at what listings are out there, pricing comparably to them and hoping like someone said "only takes one person with money".
What a d-bag. He’s just “using” BAT to assess demand, create interest and then manipulate someone into agreeing to an above-market price based on lies (BAT reserve $210K, dealers offering $200K, etc)
I agree. I really thought it was going to just hit reserve given where the market is or worst case, would be a handful of grand off. I find it super hard to believe that his reserve was $210k as BAT usually doesn't let things be wonky because they don't make money from RNMs ($99).
I'm surprised BAT allowed such high reserves, it puts them in a bit of greedy bad light too.
But they don't make any more than 5k per regular auction, no matter the final selling price. It is very much more in their favor if the car sells than chance it with a high reserve and subsequent RNM. You could argue that higher prices attracts more sellers to list with them but their business model depends on cars selling. In the past, sellers have complained about reserves being too low.
Not saying BAT is great but I don't think they're pushing for higher reserves, just trying to walk the tightrope between sellers agreeing to list and completing successful auctions.

be patient your cars out there, spend the extra money and get the color/options and miles you want. One that makes you smile every time you go to your garage

I know what you're saying but there's a fine line to be walked there, because if they keep letting stupid reserves like this it'll put off a decent amount of buyers. Why bid if so many cars continue to go RNM due to unreasonable reserves? I'm not saying they are like that now, far from it, but have to be careful when taking reserves not to have so many like this.
I am strongly considering selling my beloved .1 RS to make room for a very special air-cooled 911. I have had the car for 4 years and all the 5k miles on the car have been accumulated under my ownership as I bought it from the original owner with delivery miles. Car has never been tracked, no accients/damage, and has been fully covered in PPF since new. Has all the major options including PCCB, FAL, LED’s, full leather, and has lots of one off CXX. I have been told by the original owner and the dealer who took delivery of the car that this was the only .1 RS to come out of the factory with Ultraviolet graphics and painted accents. Feel free to PM me if you would like more info.

RapidGT - made an account to inquire but can't PM yet. Where's the car currently and what's the ballpark for letting it go? Feel free to PM me your email if that's allowed.
Serious interest so if we're close I can put down a deposit.

Hi Everyone, I recently had custom seats made for my 2019 GT3 RS (carbon fiber / six-point harness passthrough / factory thread used in stitching / foldable). Now I am debating what to do with my original 18-way seats: should I put them into storage or sell them? Here are two photos showing the 18-ways. They are like-new with Lizard Green Stitching and have the Weissach logo in the head rests. Seats are currently in Southern California. Does the community have any thoughts or suggestions? All best, Alan

I would say unless this is your forever car, keep them. It may hurt resale down the road and originality helps. Even if you ultimately don’t get a price penalty, it’s just something to explain. A story. No story cars are generally easier to sell and those seats may not be so easy to source in the future?
