I was doing the same on the 991.1 RS - I caved and went with one as I made the mistake of looking at the production numbers and realizing it really is not crazy to look at the price of those cars vs. their MSRP and the age of them now (6 years old in most cases). Went with a spec I wanted, neutral color/steel brakes/axle lift, under 7500mi. Looking forward to it as I have always wanted this gen RS and never owned or driven one.
Congrats on your RS! I did the same as you and bought a .1 RS that had a great spec. Front axle lift, PCCB, LWB seats, 6898 miles. This will primarily be a track car for me so the fact it has a Cantrell half cage and Schroth 6-points is a bonus! Swapping out the rotors for Girodisc iron and I’m all set.
Getting frustrated being a buyer. What a bummer when trying to buy your dream car.
I found a car at a dealer that was asking $209k and offered $200k. They asked “is that a formal offer”? Confirmed Carfax was good and said yes. “Sorry…management declined your offer.”

what the royal…
No one wants to budge. They all say the market pricing crap, the car doesn’t sell, and then they contact me a week or so later asking if it want to pay the same price. Well, if it has not sold in a month or two, then it obviously is priced above market.

Thank you - congrats on your purchase, looks like a great spec and is actually a color combo I looked quite hard for (GT Silver) but settled on white which is just fine. I am looking forward to getting it here and sorted.

Guessing the Porsche Colorado Springs one. Funny how they had first listed it for 199K towards the end of summer and then moved the price up sometime around September or October if I remember correctly. And now it sits. I agree with you. It's so frustrating to see these cars sitting for a long time and then randomly seeing a price increase on them. It's as if the dealerships think that if they increase the price then it will attract more attention? Idiotic...
New .2 listings are coming on in the 180's now, low mile clean ones. It's happening already. By December they will be back to normal/~140-160k range IMO, if not worse depending on what the FED does with rate hikes.

I’m curious as to what it costs a dealership to hold onto a car for 4+ months.

That depends on their inventory turns in aggregate. The space has to be measure in opportunity cost, ie; on average, how long does it take me to sell a car and what is my net profit on it? If they took twice as long to sell the GT3 but made twice the margin, it would be net neutral. That's probably what they're hoping for (and failing to achieve). If you think the GT3 market is bad in terms of cars sitting, look at the Huracan EVO market. Nowhere near the amount of waiting list when they were new but they're trying to sell used ones $50k over MSRP at basically Performante prices lol. There's like 150 for sale and inventory is not shifting at all, and there will be an updated Huracan along in a year.

Right now, nothing. When interest rates rise it may be a different story but people are getting portfolio loans at 1% or less interest only personal against their investments which means a 500k car purchase is only 5k per month interest only. Dealers are taking advantage of similar structures for themselves.

Know anything about the JV Stradale re: pricing and production numbers?
I tried to make a deal on the $269k touring at the CO dealer and the sales associate indicated they “may” consider an offer of a couple thousand less, but they are a market price dealer so the listed price is likely the price I would need to pay.
