I have 7600 miles on the Touring, will change to PS4S as well this week. I do not think the Cup2 are done yet but with colder temp in the bay area they are not ideal for sure on the street in particular when wet.

I also made the switch from CUP2's to PS4S. I am very glad I did.

On a hot day, CUP2's perform better, they have more grip (a bit more, not a lot more).

On a wet day, I don't even bother with the CUP2's because they are just dangerous. PS4S are very good in the wet, I actually tried getting loose and it was nowhere as easy as it is with the CUP2's.

In cooler temps (above 50) PS4S handle great, and are the reason why I got these tires. Zero complaints or regrets.

I have not driven them in below 40, so I can't comment on how they are in the cold.

Just did this on Sunday. Here in the PNW, it's wet for about 8 months out of the year. Our average temp is below 60deg.
Basically, my car spends most of it's time in the range where Cups are dangerous!

I have to be very careful with the throttle, the car breaks loose very easily. The car also moves all over the place when it's pushed, I'm taking 6/10ths. I have to have very fast hands to keep the car going where I want it to go (on AX and Track). This is in normal PNW weather. In the summer when it was 75deg, and I did a track day the Cups where sublime!

Picked up a spare set of wheels from a local Touring owner, and just put on P4S's and went for a drive, 42deg, and wet....
1. These are SO much quieter and smoother, I really should do some DB test, it's night and day.
2. They are not as quick or fast on turn in, and response.
4. They will pick up heat in the cold, my tire temps went up 6psi just doing 65mph on the FW
5. On turn in, they just grip, and the back end feels stuck! I was able to push the car so much harder and feel confidant then CUPs
6. On take off, there is no tire spin (medium throttle) like on cups, even when cold.
7. They should last 2-3x a set of Cups.

Bottom line, I'm going to be way more competitive in AX when the weather is not perfect! I know understand why I was chasing time when on Cups.
These tires will stay on my car until June, or I do a non-wet track day!
This is the tire that the Touring should come with stock.

Also my first time removing centerlocks. It was far easier then what I have read about. Really only takes a little bit longer to jack up each wheel, and torquing with the right tool was not difficult (6ft, 185lbs, wife on the brakes)

Regarding the N0 spec on PS4S versus N1 spec on the Cup 2, is there any significance to zero vs one, or is it simply a sequential number system? It seems the N0 spec PS4S is a great street tire. The Cup 2 tires are scary in -5C to 2C.

Oh. And mine are not N spec.

Not to re-open a old debate but I can’t tell a difference from my previous Nspec 4S. If anything these seem stickier.... (they are newer though).

I had them on my tuned 997 TT...great tire, but personally I like the Cup2's much better just because they give me more feedback at loss of traction time, which is really all I care about with Hipo street tires on a high horsepower sports car

At normal or track temperatures maybe but in street driving in cold weather, MPSC2 lets go without much warning!

I had PS4s on my R8 and AMG GTS and they hooked very well on the streets. These Cup 2s are like ice skates on the streets, especially right now since it's cold here in Charlotte. I'm excited to see what they can do on track with some heat in them. Anyone run R888Rs or other R compounds before? I did it on my AMG and they were super loud but hooked like crazy, never drove them in the wet though.

I just bought a set of cup2 for the track. Their on a dedicated set of wheels in my basement. It's not good to drive on or store Cup2 s in near freezing weather. As well as any R compound tire.

Just do it. You will not be disappointed.
If I had had PSC2s during a recent wet weather road trip I would probably not be here to write these words now.
Use for track, but for street not needed at all.

Although I agree that the 4S is likely the best tire for cars that see only street use, I think a lot here are a little too harsh on the MPSC2. I do 50/50 track/street, and the MPSC2s are just fine for "regular" street driving. Plus, I have 2 sets of wheels, and can easily swap in my "street" MPSCs for the corded "track" set in the middle of a DE weekend, without sacrificing too much performance as in swapping in street 4S tires would.
