The ONLY irritant for me about my Touring has been I find the tire roar a little too much on an extended drive at highway speeds...to the point where I was considering dynamat in the door skins and on the wheel wells. Am I gleaning from some of the comments here that this could be a 'fix' for this issue...in that the PS4 is that much quieter and more comfortable than the Cup2s I have on the car now?

I now run them on my GT3 for both DD and track use.

Totally agree about the noise at freeway speeds! It gets to you after a while.
YES, the P4S's will help a lot, they are far quieter.
YES, sound deading will also help a ton! It also makes the radio sound SO much better! I only did the doors and floor, the rear fenders have not been done yet.

I did both on my GT3, and have been so happy that I did.

Completely subjective, but I feel like the switch from Cup2's to 4s's was noticeable in the comfort dept - but after a year with 4s, I forgot what the "otherside" was like and it's still a loud highway car any way you slice it.

Not to beat a dead horse, but are the GT3 owners happy with their switch over to PS4s? I have them on my 50th and Spyder, and think they'll be great on the GT3, but just looking for that last bit of confirmation.....

For me, absolute, they are wonderful! But if I lived in a area that was usually over 65deg and sunny, I may not feel the same way. Wet grip is outstanding! Normal driving around town is so much better then Cups, they will also last 3-4x a set of Cups. I would not use these for track duty unless it was a cold (under 60deg and/or wet).

I do feel this (P4S's) should be the stock tire for the Touring.

I easily could have gotten 15,000 miles out of my Cup 2's, even with an occasional autox. I doubt the PS4's would last 45,000, unless you drove you're GT3 like a little old lad...I mean person.

I'm not sure I've gotten 10k out of any set of Porsche tires, ever - maybe 10-12k at the most. And this is my first GT.

I think if you can get 15kmi out of Cups, you should be able to get 30kmi out of P4S's!!
Only had my GT3 for 14 months now, and almost 8kmi, and I have gone through 2 sets of Cup2's, with one track day, and a lot of AX. First set heat cycled out and second set was just having fun. For me Cups are a 3-6kmi tire.

Every Porsche I have owned, regardless of what tire I used, they were all 10kmi or under before being toast. This is one reason my Wife is not a Porsche fan, she hates the fact that I "always" am buying tires for the car. To be fair, in about a year with the GT3, 3 set of tires have been purchased.

I put N0 ps4s on my 991.2 gt3 one year ago. Northeast driving. Used the Cup2s N1 for year one. IMO the ps4s transformed the car for the better for street driving. Quieter, better grip in most street conditions and excellent feel. I keep the Cup2s mounted exclusively for track days.

I have a GT3 T with about 4K miles on it, and I too would like it to have less road noise. I intend to install Michelin 4Ss when the Cup 2s need to be replaced, but I am interested in hearing from Stealth 993 and anyone else who has installed any additional sound deadening in a GT3. Did
you do it yourself? Did you do the wheel wells? What material did you use? etc.

I love to hear the engine, but pebbles kicking up into the wheel wells not so much! Thanks in advance for any information.

You must track your car, as I'm not easy on mine (no track use) and easily got 14,000 miles. Could have gone further, but they heat cycled out for autox.

I tracked them some at Road Atlanta and Little Talledega, but spend a lot of time in the N. Ga mountains. Unlike out west, you have ~90-120º turns every 50-100 yards or so. It is very hard on tires when driven at the limit. I replaced them on my C2S at 8-9k, and on the GTS at ~10-12k. I traded my GT350 with 3,000 miles, and the tires were nearly half done.

I had a C63 go through the rears in 3500 miles. I thought they were joking when I had it in for service and they said I needed new tires (that car had a drifting problem).

Just changed to 4S after 7000 miles on the Dunlops on the Touring. So much better for street driving. Much quieter. Wish I had done it many miles ago.

I switched to the 4S at about 8K miles. In normal conditions (dry, >60 degrees) the Cup 2's felt better. They were much more connected and planted feeling. The 4S feel a little squirmy like they're sliding a bit in hard cornering. Having said that, because I daily the GT3, the 4S is a much better all around tire. I had several near misses with hydroplaning on the Cup 2s.
