This is a great informative thread.I'm in the UK and own a 991.2GT3 RS WP on Mag rims and want to fit some MP4Ss before winter.Bearing in mind that the Mags need as much protection as possible against kerb damage i feel i need to make sure the MP4Ss are not stretched in any way.Do i need to fit either the 345s or even the 355s for optimum fitting and help protect the Mags at the same time. Alternatively is there another make of tyre which would make more sense form a fitting POV.

The fronts are 265s. For whatever reason it is only the rears that require a different size to fit properly. The 355/25-21 tires may be a special order item.

Thanks for your reply. I've since done some further research and i've found the 355s MP4Ss in the UK in 21'' sizes. The one negative is that they are prohibitively expensive so will weigh up the cost/benefit ratio. Are there any alternative more cost effective options available i wonder.?

Sell your RS and buy a GT3?

It appears that there is a new N-rated PS4S in 325/30/21, but it is marked ND0. I can't think of any other car in the Porsche range that would use this tyre, apart from the RS and 918.

I switched from Cup 2's to PS4S and boy what a difference in typical Belgian weather (cold and wet)
With Cup 2's road holding was poor, with PS4S it is very good and moreover the car is much quieter now
Will never go back to Cup 2's for my DD GT3

Thought this was amusing regarding stock Cup2's

https://www.roadandtrack.com/news/a3...ilt-in-winter/

A report published by Ford Authority—and confirmed by Ford to Road & Track—says this is because the Cup 2 tires may lose traction during the certification dyno run at the end of the assembly line, which is performed on every single Mustang built. Additionally, each Mustang leaving the assembly line is loaded onto a freight train for transport, and apparently, the ramp onto the train is so steep, those Cup 2s simply can't get any grip during Michigan's coldest months. If you've ever driven on Cup 2s in cold weather, you'll understand how little grip there is to work with, and why Ford might take such a precaution.

I had PS4S on my previous GT3 and they were great, N specs. No issues in all weather conditions that were applicable to summer and into fall.

What size PS4S did you go with the for rear of the RS? Did you go with the 355/25/21 as suggested by A/S (about 15 posts up)?

325/30/21 which is the same as Cup 2's I understand, 355 is frankly insane, the car doesnt have 700hp

Not exactly, the manufacturer's stated dimension of a tyre is not an accurate representation of the true dimension of the tyre. 355/30/21 PS4S is much more likely to be closer in size to the Cup 2 N0/1//2 than the PS4S 325/30/21, which is a significantly small tyre than the Cup 2 N0/1/2.

to put things in perspective my F430 manages 500hp very well on 285's, I didnt notice any difference in the wheel arch fill replacing same size Pilot Cup 2's with same size Pilot Sport 4S's
