Yes, but if we cut the dealer some slack and assume he was talking about the 1st batch, then he was pretty much right. (trying to be gracious here).

Post August/September, who knows how many they are going to build. I hear a couple of wildly different scenarios.

I was told, by someone not trying to get an ADM out of me, that the first batch for the US was 680 total (VIP and non-VIP). I don't have the total figure for the second, but it will be way more than 1,000 world wide.

I'm not trying to be gracious, but help people not get suckered into an ADM.

This happens every single time and people don't learn. Start freaking out about 1000 WW dealer BS and suckered into paying ADM. Happened to .1 RS and they ended up making 6000 WW.

Look I am lucky and getting car at MSRP. Just passing along what dealer principle told me and what some other contacts overseas told me. 2nd allocation for the US is in jeopardy due to a multitude of reasons. And not that we'd ever know but if anyone thinks 5k units will be made I'll lay down 5k on that bet any day of the week. Keep smoking the Pineapple Express!

The good news is we will know soon enough as it sounds like my car hitting the East Coast may be one of the first with a final production in early Sept. Safe to assume that if my car has the particulate filter they all will...

To me, it seems like the particulate filter(s) will be placed somewhere downstream from the existing cats and/or in place of the existing cats by way of a new design. Due to minimal space for additional components, I'd think the later is somewhat probable if space permits. I'd also say it's probable that the biggest hurdles in removing the particulate filter will be CELs and/or tuning issues or if they are connected to the headers like the current cats are. Hopefully not (obviously) but we'll see.

MY 3RS has the identical production schedule as your 2RS. I am assuming it will have the particulate filter. Not sure what if anything it will mean to the performance or sound of the car.
