Check in Here if you have a 991.2 GT3 PTS Order

Eduardo, do you have any thought on what would be best strategy to increase my (very small) odds of getting a touring in PTS? My build date is in May so my order should not lock before February. Stay in GT3 or sit in touring? If I get denied in GT3, would I have a chance if I move to touring and request it? Obviously I'm asking something that may be impossible to answer.
leave well alone, based on the fact that changing anything on
your order messes sh*t up!, YMMV.
If you really want the touring (and are willing to risk not getting it PTS) then I would change it, I dont see changing the order having any positive effect on you getting PTS

We first received notice about the possibility of PTS
on the gt3 Touring starting in February from a well-
informed Swiss-based Rennlister on this forum. Since
that news about 1 1/2 weeks ago on this forum, a
senior design consultant at 'Exclusive Manufaktur'
in Atlanta confirmed it to one of my sources on his
visit there last week! So it's apparently true!

Per Eduardo's post above, I am the gentleman he referred to that visited Atlanta a few days ago.
1) My SA did a great job scheduling me an appointment at Atlanta with the Exclusive Manufaktur design consultant.
2) I had no other business is Atlanta and my family was all busy so I flew down in the morning and back in the evening.
3) The facilities are wonderful, museum was worthwhile, many other things to see. I would say its worth about a half a day planning wise if you are not driving at the facility or configuring a car.
4) I met the design consultant and we spent about 2 1/2 hours on the car, truly thinking through every element. I found real value add in that process.
5) Through working with my SA I was able to move my allocation to Spring 2018 to give myself a chance at PTS on a Touring car.
6) I do not have an order in the system showing PTS on a Touring car, but left with a strong feeling that by the time my order went to lock, the odds of PTS were strong.
7) Some bad news, the pepita seats have been raised from $8,500 to $10,000. If you are paying for leather backs or other seat upgrades it was my understanding at final pricing the $10,000 covers all upgrades to the seat, so if other seat changes are subtracted that may help some.
As you know, there are no guarantees in this process, and I am just trying to make wise choices along the way to give me the best chance of success. I was able to receive some coaching from Eduardo before going to help me understand the CXX process. As I stated above, I found it educational, value added, and very enjoyable. We will see where I end up next year.

See my post on Rennteam:
Yesterday I did another 300km on Swabian country roads with my RS and the car just sticks to the ground and flies at unreal speeds, banging the gears up and down with the PDK, engine screaming, it's intoxicating. Also my recent drive on some Austrian passes almost left me speechless. Despite all that I always have that little nagging doubt how it would feel driving the same roads but with a manual. Don't get me wrong the first time I drove a GT3 with PDK in Spa I was amazed and sold my 997GT3RS afterwards (with the benefit of hindsight that was a mistake as it was just before prices skyrocketed). Then I moved to the Aubergine and still I thought there is something missing. As I mentioned it already a couple of times, driving road cars on track has become obsolete for me mainly due to safety and performance reasons, that car somehow lost its right to exist (for me). So since the rumors of an upcoming Touring Package surfaced I was kind of harassing my dealer constantly to get one in connection with PTS. The lust for PTS already started several years ago though you couldn't not complain about loud colors at least available with RS'. Long story cut short, two weeks ago I got the confirmation of receiving a GT3 with TP and two days ago Porsche Exclusive invited me to Stuttgart in November to custom spec my car. To say I'm over the moon is an understatement. At the same time I will be sad to see my Aubergine go as it is a fantastic car. At the end each to his own and you cannot blame Porsche for cashing in on that.

I continue to think it is way past due that PCNA is
frank with their US customers & reveals what they
know about the PTS requests they have made on
behalf of their customers to PAG. It seems incredible
to me, when PAG has apparently every .2 991 gt3
allocated & calculated built dates all the way to Nov
/Dec 2018 in their elaborate just-in-time logistic
system, that PCNA would not be told as of this late
date (Sept 23rd, 2017) of their US PTS slots granted
by PAG within that total allocation. Something is not
right with this picture! PAG knows exactly by now how
many PTS slots they are willing to do for the balance of
.2 991 gt3 production.

Not that you or anyone else has the answer (unless of course someone here is an executive at PCNA or PAG), but it would be interesting to understand on who's desk is this issue sitting.

My *opinion* (in blissful ignorance of reality) is that if you already have a GT3 PTS request in V180, and you want PTS more than you want a "*****" GT3 (aka touring) you should
leave well alone, based on the fact that changing anything on
your order messes sh*t up!, YMMV.

I wonder how long the powers that be will allow us US folks sit in PTS limbo land. haha

read through his PTS posts (all 227 pages in this thread:

good luck to all seeking your personalized Porsche, something PAG markets as readily available to anyone

I keep repeating this 'fact'. Most
911R customers for the US were
in fact 918 VIP's & many were
denied PTS on that 911R model!
I don't think this is PAG corporate
strategy. Most, if not all markets
except the US (meaning Canada,
Europe, Middle East, Australia),
know exactly the PTS slots available
for their .2 991 gt3 allocations & have
already told their customers where
they stand! This is a PCNA snafu,
created I believe by someone in
Atlanta that didn't understand the
consequences of this 'Open Border'
policy, where everyone is allowed
into a PTS Request Room & nobody
gets thrown out or told they can't
get in. Sounds 'inclusive' & 'NICE',
but the reality is that Germany might
not care one bit for PCNA's quirky ways
& still deny most of the PTS requests
because that is how they run that
peculiar PTS ship. Let's just hope
this doesn't turn into a real PR
nightmare for PCNA & their loyal
customers!
Because of the confusing system PCNA
has established for PTS on the .2 991
gt3, I don't trust them to do the 'right'
thing for you even if you pull out of the
'Open Border' PTS v180 waiting room!
Your best bet is to follow closely reports
we get here in Rennlist from European
& Middle East savvy customers as to
what they have been allowed to do to
switch to PTS on the gt3 touring when
that 'PTS window' opens & try to get
PCNA to follow suit. So the key here
is to know early the information as to
what other 'normal' markets are going
to do re: PTS on the gt3 Touring & then
go into action!

Ok so I don't know enough about PTS to figure out if this is something or if this is nothing.
My dealer just called me to tell me that my Manual PTS order was accepted, is showing as V180 in the system, and is waiting to be scheduled for production.
Does this mean it's 100% a done deal and just a matter of when and I should be really excited, or is this one of those things that sounds good but means nothing?
Thanks.
