Yes, I have never seen it handled this way!
Good luck with the Voodoo PTS request!

Don't know if that's a positive step but hard to

My question has always been if PCNA got
the cart before the PAG horse! But hoping
for the best news for all!

Default 'Oslo Blau'...

'Oslo Blue' is a PTS approved color for the 991/718
model:

*
It was also approved for the 997 model:

https://rennlist.com/forums/997-gt2-...ue-gt3-rs.html

*
It's a vintage Porsche 356B color dating from 1962/1963,
although the current color code has been changed from
it's original numbers to Z77 (perhaps indicating a slight
change to its original '62/'63 color formula
):

One small update on my color. I was asked by porsche to provide a 6"x6" sprayed out sample (I had asked originally if they needed it based on Z356 threads here on RL and they said no because it was a porsche color). I am working on doing that as now the pressure is on me to get it right. I think I am going to get a few using different paint manufactures and compare. For those who have gotten porsche historic colors approved, did you send a sample? I am trying to figure out if this is an indication that they are having issues getting it right. My recommendation would be to send the sample even if they tell you it is not needed as this has set me back in time. No big deal as I am a non-PTS touring for the GT3 and I am a patient guy.

You are thinking that the major
automotive paint companies
that Porsche uses (Spies Hecker/
Axalta, BASF, etc
) can't get the
this particular color 'right' & now
need your help?

Maybe it could be that Porsche &
the dealer network doesn't know
you very well & would rather have
you supply them a 'sample' of the
color you want so they can simply
reproduce IT to avoid liability issues
at time of delivery! (Oh, that's not
what I thought the color I requested
looked like, so I will not take it, sorry!)
.

Or perhaps someone at Porsche
actually read your posts here at
Rennlist & got nervous about you,
Evil! Can you blame them?

Eduardo,

It must be my love of snow tires and wood trim that is throwing them off.

In all seriousness, matching an old color with new, especially water based, paints is not easy and I believe there was slight variation in the color based on manufacturer of the paint and otherwise. I guess I am not suprised. I would have been happier with whatever PAG says the color is more than whatever my body shop comes up with. I would think the sample would be worse from a liability issue as if I say “that color please” and they deliver a car in that color it’s “that color” whereas if I send a sample they match and the match is off .... Not that I care. Close is good enough.

I am not in California so I don’t have the “no thanks” option once an order locks it is my car or bye bye big deposit. I was also very clear that I would buy it no matter what it looked like.

Anyway, I know people here have gotten some historic colors approved, did you send a sample?
