[QUOTE=Goughary;13492144]On the rear deck we are using a dynamat like product. I forget the name...Darren can chime in and elaborate. But here are the pics of the install of the sound deadening, rear wiper, rear speakers and deck, seats etc:

Is that the Lowe's type roofing product or something more advanced?

It is something like that yes. Darren did the research and sent it to be installed in his car... So I don't know much abt it. It's like a thin dynamat. So I did two layers. We will see how it goes. It should do the trick...and costs nothing compared to dynamat. So let's hope.

Just Aluminum and Bitumen. No Foam. Very Malleable though. There are other products that are ideal for NVH at different frequencies and some need Mass for abatement. This is primarily a heat reduction and some noise reduction application directly over the engine and Transmission. We will try it below the rear pop out windows and skin the steel doors when we add new speakers.

thanks Hedr -- as I noted when I did mine (full interior NASA style) the impact on noise was not as effective as the foam lined with vinyl and matting per the factory. Cost was minimal and weight too ... added about 4kg.
I then added closed cell foam with 4mm rubber matt (heavy) which helped alot but I think it shd be a mix of closed and open cell, even if very thin like 12-15mm of each under the carpet ... mostly re road and wind noise - most of us have loud enough exhausts for any insulation

Strange noise though. Turns out (I think) to be the upper perch in the rear banging on the bottom of the rennline monoball top hat.

So out they came. Need to find the right length spacer snd get them back in there for a test.

That would do it. McMaster-Carr sells bronze bushings in metric diameters. You don't need as much articulation as for the front. A 10mm spacer should give you plenty of room. The rear shocks have plenty of bump travel too. So as long as you have threads on the spring perch to go lower, you can add the spacer and keep your ride height.
Car looks great! Black with cup wheels is the perfect combo. Factory got it right with the RS
