And finally, today. The yellow stitching on the gear shift **** was changed to black with a paint pen...the yellow worked for a previous idea for an interior, but doesn't work for the current interior we chose to do...

Thanks man!

I'm on site today working at the third garage working on that C4 above. Looks to be a clean honest car. Engine tins are like new. Starter seems new. Rehabbing CV boots in the rear today. Pics later....fun stuff. Gotta love these cars.

For the rest of you...
This one will be for sale FYI...not by me, but by Scott at the third garage. He's going to have it all sorted and ready to be driven soon...feel free to call him to enquire. And I'm happy to give an honest opinion along the way if you need a third party opinion...

That was the right rear, left was fine. Fronts tomorrow...question will be if I can get the axles out without taking part the front end. I'm used to having the entire suspension out...lol....

There is a guy near me that I bring him axles and boots and grease and he does this for 100. I gladly pay him. Such a messy job. :-) not hard but a damn mess.

Yep....messy. Tricky to get the bearing back in but when the joint comes together, after ten minutes of scratching your head wondering what you are doing wrong, it comes together like it was always meant to go in easy...

How long is this board? 36 inches? 2x10?
I think I'm going to try this next time.

Board goes between the two control arms...I don't have the measurement off hand, but I think 22 inches?

And yes it's perfectly safe - there are a ton of threads on jacking the car...

I don't use a board to lift the front. I just put my jack under the control arm hard point. My jack pad has a hockey puck on it for cushion. When I lift, the car twists a bit but its for a very short time, so I don't worry about it. Once I have the car lifted, I put my jack stands under the front jack points.

I put the board as per the photo. It helps if you have lost the drain plugs as the board would crush them.

^^^^^^^^^^
Thanks John, that's what I was looking for. (sorry, I like pics)
I didn't realize you could jack it up that far forward?

I was also asking about length, as I assume the board needs to be long enough to distribute the load.

I know it's been discussed on many threads, but I haven't seen much showing the exact placement. Don't want to crunch anything... Thanks in advance.

No problem. That placement has never given me any problem, although I imagine it would work just as well a bit further back as well, particularly if you were worried about the car moving back when lifted and the jack slipping.
