I too lift my car that way. I worry more about the engine weight on the other side of the rear jackstand causing the car to rotate backward than I do about denting the frunk pan.

I go farther back. The back of the board is between the two front most control arm bushings..that area is very strong and unlikely to bend. Mine is a C4, so I don't feel comfortable lifting all the way up in the front just behind the bumper...maybe it's fine...dunno.

Goughary,

Looks like you have a handfull of axle boots under your belt. Do you have an estimate on how many oz of grease you put in each boot? I've struggled to find an actual measurement, just ambiguous descriptions. I'm in the midst of doing mine for the first time now.

Thanks in advance. Love the thread.

Wow.... how come that the panel is not getting bent / dented?
To me this part has no reinforced point, isn't just metal panel 1mm thick??....

Yeah, but it is Porsche metal, made from Bavarian diamonds and not subject to Newtonian gravity...

It's right under the boxed end of the frunk. Also don't forget that our cars are light with most weight at the rear. With the rear up on jacks there was a point where I reckoned I could have lifted it by hand given the leverage of the engine weight.

No idea - but I can tell you this...those tubes of moly cv grease...that look like 9 inches or so long and 2 inches wide...I reach in there with two fingers, and when I can't reach more grease, I've used the "right" amount. - I.e., enough -

You basically have to get the grease packed into both sides of the bearing, and then some extra around the thing to be sure, and from there you are pretty good. Don't over think it...couldn't be simpler....

And this, my friends...is the end of the project. Car five, otherwise known as "Aja", left today...and I'm done. Five cars, one year. No one else in line.

Happy to help if anyone needs to send me another car...

Congrats Man, well done! I love your enthusiasm with these cars. I need to figure out what I'm doing with my suspension. Might be giving you a call!

Ha...I'll fly out and drive it back...so we can get to know the car before tearing into it...

And to break everything that's on its way out just so we hit it all...lol

That's how this whole thing started...the Alabama car back in the beginning was going to be another we found in California...and it all started with that road trip. We learned a lot about the car and it's needs on the way up from bama...
