My absolute favorite upgrade has to be the Function First Trans Mount (60A - Orange). It was something I added in to round out my shifting upgrades and thought would be minor. Actually it's been quite the discovery, just like upgrading sagging engine mounts, but to a whole new level.

I have the softest durometer (60), and it really increases your connection to the car. A lot. Surprisingly so. This is a wonderful upgrade for someone chasing the "RS" feeling in their car. There's a slight buzz in your back at idle, and that feeling continues with a much more direct and connected throttle pedal feel (all the time). Even the sound has changed slightly, deeper with a more mechanical edge. The car feels stronger with everything feeling so direct.

If you are searching to increase connection, response, and sound... this mod is a win. But don't go overboard. I think a lot of people would like how the Orange 60A feels, but 70A or 80A is probably only acceptable in a track/race car.

Would love to hear other's thoughts on these mounts.
I have been too busy enjoying the car since the suspension upgrade, been really hesitant to get it back on jackstands. I'm taking time off from work next week, so if I can get some of my honey do items knocked off the list, I am going to tackle this. Thanks for the input on the FF transmission mount insert. I think I'm going to order one and install it. Seems like a worthy upgrade. I'm anxious to get this done. Will really finish the car off for the time being until I can tackle the rear suspension next winter.

All good. Driving it is the main thing, and given all your recent mods there's a lot to get used to and be very happy about. It's great knowing you have more goodies in the garage to install for when the time is right.

Wow- crossing 100k views...unreal. This thread has taken us all down a long path of making these cars great daily driving track capable car that are far beyond what porsche had in mind when they let them roll away.

We just did a drive with the entire dbfd group...minus Justin in the white car - he wasn't able to join in on Marblehead madness...I'll post the story here when I get a chance to write it up...since it was the first real road trip that resulted from and was the culmination of all this work...

Teaser- my car was the one that broke...lol...

Drive Break Fix Drive

So we are good!

P.S. The lobster rocket is being prepped for sale. You can pm me for details. It's not going to be an inexpensive C4. So keep your expectations in check. It's had so much work put into it that you couldn't buy a C4 and turn it into that car for the price I / we are going to list it at...just sayin. So for the right person who understands, it'll be a good strong deal.

That last pic is not as we slowed down...ehchemmm...it's entirely fake and photoshopped and dbfd in no way condones speeding off at kind. In fact, there is no dbfd. It's a movement , and not a thing...lol

Boston- sucks. Traffic and confusing as hell.

Marblehead- beautiful. Pain in the butt to get to through terrible roads. But very New England, and the chowder was amazing.

Awesome trip. Will the Marblehead run be annual? We aren't sure.

What we know- is that it's not the last run.

Jeff and his wife "Mrs Jeff" were awesome. I have them the keys to my car for the last hours of the trip so he could have a well sorted C4 to play with while he was on our side of the country...

I didn't know him until this trip. His YouTube channel is way way cool...he's one of us for sure...now we just have to convince him to stop fiddling with old 911s and get with the 964 program!

Awesome photos and looks like a great trip with many great rides. I definately miss the tri-state area, especially the hutch and merrit, but 9A running up and beyond bear mountain is still one of my favorite driving roads...

Thanks for sharing the trip...now I have to plan to go back and visit family and see if anyone has something fun to drive

Miura and a 512 BB. Very nice !

First time I saw a Miura in the flesh was the Consorso Italiano at Monterey. There were three of them there all lined up.... amazing !!

What a sight to see a pack of 964 motoring down the road.
Yes, yes, Jeff needs a 964. Maybe that's his next Utoob project car?!
Loving the gold wheels.

Thanks again so much for giving me the opportunity to drive your car. Once I started to get used to changing gears with the wrong hand, it was so nice and planted. I of course didn't exceed the speed limit (by much). That is I was going by the speed limit at home which is 110. Kph is the same as Mph isn't it???

I did love the refinement of the 964 although if you were really trying to sell me on it you would have had working A/C. Isn't that supposed to be one of the best upgrades of the 964

Anyway, I am glad the 'issue' sounds like it was relatively minor, as I was worried for a bit.

As for being one of you guys, the more Mrs Jeff and I look around the New England area, the more we could see ourselves living here, although we haven't seen your winters yet

In any case, I have to say a big thanks to Dave, for throwing the 'Run to Marblehead' together at such short notice. It was a great day with a great bunch of guys.

Was the noise ever identified?

As for Jeff taking on 964s, there are plenty of Tipos in New Zealand he can purchase We're a bit more precious about our manuals leaving the country.
