Default Great AMERICAN 964s for sale

Serviceable, and can be brought back to a reasonable condition without spending too much, and back to really good condition by spending what it would cost to buy one that needs no work...

Years ago they used to say "every 911 is a 30k car. Buy for 15, you spend 15. Buy for 20, you spend 10, etc" no real difference today. Every 964 is a 50k car (at least)...its only a matter of time before you spend it...

Goughary, Start a new thread and post the progress. A lot of us like to see these cars transformed to great cars again. Just a thought.

I will be posting my black/maroon 1990 964 C4 cab for sale in the next week or so. 62K miles, receipts since 2000 including recent $10K top end motor and clutch. All original paint, very good driver quality car with great mechanical condition. Some rock chips in the usual places. Need to do some more research on price for a fair private party sale.

This is so true, even with a strong PPI, I immediately found things that need to be sorted out on my 964. I was actually surprised by some of what they missed being a very well reaged shop.

Just saw this car at "Cars and Coffee" this morning. Didn't study it too closely, but it looked pretty nice.

'91 Cabrio with 100K miles, seems like lots of work done recently, probably in good condition - $33.5K. No pics probably helps:

Shout out to our friend in Maine - I drove this car a few weeks ago. Needs very little to fully sort it out - typical little stuff...

Drives like a car with 50-70k on it. I was hard pressed to not make an offer. Handling/steering is solid, brakes are good, suspension felt right - nothing sloppy going on (though its not a new car, so all things being equal). Engine felt more or less perfect. Slight notchiness in the shifting usually second to third - I was fairly certain refreshing the motor mounts would fix that.

Current offer is way lower than where I would be in this market. Very fair for the car. Ive said many times - mileage on 964s is irrelevant - its all about the work thats been done over time and the maintenance. this car at 160k is a good example of that - Ive driven many at 100k that were complete teardowns - this I would just change the oil and drive it....
