Yesterday turned out to be a cracking day's track driving at Oulton Park in sunny Cheshire. Attending with me were Oltimer, Asbi and ChrisW. Three of us in 964s and Chris in his Cayman Race car he's campaigning this year. We were also joined by ras62 for a couple of hours, who partook of some passenger laps with us.

Prior to the day I fitted my recently acquired Momo 7 steering wheel which added even more feel to the car. It was also my first chance to see how the standard Textar brake pads stood up to a day of abuse since I had the brake cooling fitted. I'm pleased to say that they performed superbly all day, with a firm pedal still there when it was time to go home. Even better was the finding that my videos show that I managed to lop a full 2 seconds off my previous best lap time for OP. The latter, I'm convinced coming down to keeping my 'eyes up' in the braking zones which allowed me to carry more speed into the turns. A tip that I picked up in Kai's track driving thread.

Once upon a time at Oulton Park .....

There were 3 964s playing nicely , and two 996RSs , one blue and one red .

Those 996RSs were bad boys , running around so fast that it was hard to play their game.

Eventually , the baddest of the 996RSs was so bad that it ran out of steam....

It was good to see you guys yesterday and a big thanks for the laps I was more than a little jealous of you staying all day but it was a very enjoyable couple of hours all the same.

993targa, 6GT3 and APWs new purchase the Parr Cayman S Edition Turbo
( 480 brake,goes like stink )

Bedford a few weeks ago in 30 degree heat with a mates Cayman Turbo and a few others watch for the Aerial Atom at the end as my brakes were fading to nothing

What I loved was the way you breezed past the ex-Parr 480 bhp Cayman turbo on the long straight.

Bet he turns the boost up for next time
