Pretty even I think. I think driver and level of preparation would be the difference.

wow look what ive found... a 350z is 2 sec faster around the ring than a 993. the 964 is quite a ways back

http://fastestlaps.com/tracks/nordschleife.html

personally, ive never been passed by a 993 on street tires. a 996 is another story, they seem to be quite a bit quicker than the aircooleds. still i would love to scare myself silly in a 964 track car.

warm regards

If you think one lap times over the Nordschleife is a good way of comparing cars, especially for pounding round a track all day, I think you're better off sticking with the 350Z or changing to a Cayman S.

As has been noted, I've been quiet since Spa....for some obvious reasons!

But I'm (hopefully in the next week), back in a 964

I've also conducted a major overhaul of my Westfield's fuel system, so that's back running again, so on that basis I've swallowed a brave pill and booked the following....be nice to meet up if anyone is around?

Blyton Park - Sun 21 July (Javelin);
Donington - Sun 4 Aug (964 annual meet organised Boxsey (BaT), ok so this was booked some time ago);
Rockingham - Sun 8 Sept (BaT); and
Snetterton 200 - Sat 12 October (Javelin).

Blyton will defo be in the Westfield, and Donny the 964, but depending on weather the others will be decided nearer the time!

I think others will agree when I suggest this merits a thread

Yay! I'm off to book myself for Rockingham 8th Sept.

Just back from Snetterton 300 yesterday in the datsun, 150miles on track and quite a lot of petrol consumed, avg in the low teens mpg, lots of fun

Firstly, glad to hear the 964 is close to being finished.

Looked at the Oct Snetterton date and will consider it - shame it's the 200 circuit not the 300 though.

See you on Aug 4th - passenger seat awaits. I'll be keen to see if I've cured my 944 intercooler problem by then.

Yeah, I was hoping to do the 300, but they're using the other part of the circuit for something

Still, it makes a good excuse to have to go back some time!

Can't wait, fingers x'd you fix the problem.

Default PICS?

Cheeksyboy, I pm'd Colin about your car repairs and asked him to post pics on this forum for all to share. All he replied was that it looks so good that you will want to wash it more often... "whatever that means" ? I look forward to reading your exploits.

Did you see the 911 project 9M is doing on the old rally car?

hi there Jack,

Not been to the 9M unit yet, will take pics and post when I do.

Even Colin couldn't persuade me to wash the car more often!

Friday 28 June 13 - evening session at Donington Park

Finally back on track albeit on one of those days where it rained, dried out for a few minutes and then rained again. So, not an evening for pushing the limits but still plenty of fun to be had. I put the GoPro on for the last session - here's a few laps following Oldtimer:

Oldtimer's car really does stand out against the gloom of a Donny evening!

Hope to be back on track soon myself. Thoroughly enjoyed that post, thanks Boxsey.
