If anyone else is thinking of joining us, I'm sure a bit of sweet talking on the phone to BaT might still get you our special rate in the next few days.
Currently we've got 6 V8s and Liam in his BMW. There's also interest from Monkfish Performance/ProMAX Motorsport in Milton Keynes, with Roger wanting to bring his Maloo (the blue one that Top Gear have borrowed in the past) and Andy who needs persuading to come along in his 996 Turbo. There's also another guy who would like to come along for the craic and to passenger. As there's room at the hotel, I have said that it won't be a problem. I have one that will not use the tunnel, so we are going to work back from our eta in France, to get a ferry time for him to catch. If anyone else would prefer this, then I can post up details, once we have them, and work out where/when we will meet.

Sorry to bring so many along, but word got out, and quite a few were interested.

All are polite and mature drivers, but if any of you has ANY trouble with these people, please let me know and I will have a word with them. I'm sure it won't happen and I've told them all that it's your party, and we are there as your guests, so they must be on best behaviour.

I'm still on the pending list due to the fact that I have an upcoming case in the Singapore High Court which is due for some time in March.

As soon as know the dates I will confirm either way.

Cheers,

Mark 90 C2.

If any of them want the 911 experience when we're at Spa (including the chap that's just coming along for the ride) they're welcome for p/x laps.

BTW any idea of the best meeting place near the tunnel?

Yup theres a 'Travel Inn' (or the likes) less than a mile away, big car park... although maybe we should call them first.

That's where we all met before the Euro trip I did this year.

IMHO, probably the best place to meet would be the J11 services on the M20. It was built for early arrivals at the port and tunnel, and doesn't get a lot of use. Failing that how about the shopping area in the Eurotunnel complex? Even though I'm close to the Channel Tunnel and know the area, I've only used it once before, so would bow to those with more knowledge of the tunnel set up.

Your suggestions make the most sense.

I agree. Using the services would be good for those coming down the M20.

And not much further for us. Chances are, the fuel will be cheaper in the UK, and I'm sure the J11 services have a Shell garage, so we can all V-max up before we go.

good bump there boxsey thanks. Happy New Year everyone.

it seems the meeting pt is the J11 services on the M20. Did we agree an estimated time beforehand on the Friday morning?

Also what time were we targetting for the channel tunnel?

I shall get mine booked soonish once i get clarity on the above.

Happy new year Andrew. Here's what I believe we're all settled on:

Channel Crossing - Meet point and Time pending.
Depart 10 am? Friday 23 March
Return 1 pm Monday 26 March
Meet point of J11 (M20) services is now agreed upon I believe. My guess is that would mean departing the services at 9.30 am at the latest to get our train but I'll look into that.

The 10 am crossing would put us on the other side at about 11.30 euro time, giving us enough daylight to get to the hotel at a leisurely pace.

So, are we going with these times?

Or will I be going solo if I book first

Since the post above, I've been reliably informed that we would be better to depart the J11 services at 9 am to ensure we make a 10 am booking, owing to the possibility of queues at the terminal. That'll be fine for cheeksyboy and myself who will be staying local(ish) Thursday night. Is that OK for you boys that are travelling down from the London area in the morning?
