who gets first drive?
where do you take the car for the first drive and how much do you push it?
is the owner flying to the UK to get involved, or does he just wait until it ships to him?

Slowly we are getting there. According to plan, the vehicle is ready for it's first track trial by August 17th, keep our fingers crossed that we do not come across an other unforeseen snag! The testdate(s) are with the NineMeisters! ![thumbsup](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/bigok.gif)

Work slowly advancing on lots of detail stuff that does not storyboard too well, however I'm sure that this will get the pulses racing:
Seats!
Neil started the interior ball rolling by cleaning out the back end and fitting the Schroth harnesses whilst Mark built up the Recaro seat runner kits before fitting the drivers seat. We've got some minor electrical work to do before the passenger seat can go in.

Long overdue public update. I know, I know, why so long? Truth is that once Marc send the Speedster packing he decided to take a vacation along with half of our workshop staff just as I was committed to completing 5 Motec engine management conversions. Things have progressed, just not had time to post the info, so here goes with what I think is mising.
1. Driveshafts.
New 964RS driveshafts finally arrived from Porsche which were then converted to match the 993RS front hubs with a custom made trigger tooth wheel. The shafts were fitted with the RS only nut & locknut assembly on the hub end.

2. Wheelnuts
Tightening the 90mm A/F M72 BBS wheelnuts requires a matching socket and huge 3/4" torque wrench. We have the torque wrench, finally located a beautifully made alloy socket in Germany.

3. Aircon.
The hybrid aircon system was proving to be a logistical headache due to the incompatibility with a mismatched set of 911 parts that we had available.....
.... so as a result I donated the complete aircon system from my 993 engine'd 3.2 Carrera to the cause. It took the guys two days to remove all the parts that we needed, and more besides. Glad it only ever rains in the UK now.
On the front corner we also had a clearance issue with the huge front wheels catching the stock 964 aircon radiator and fan. No choice left but to re-position it in the arch behind the RSR bumper, so Robin has been working on this on-and-off for a week looking at several options. This is now the final location which takes cooling air directly from the front airscoop hole to the rad.

4. Oil cooler
On the other side of the nose, the upright 3.2 Carrera oil cooler was also causing a headache with the tyre. This time a simple bracket modification cured the problem.
Slimline electric cooling fans will be mounted to assist the flow and now glassfibre ducts are being made to keep warm air from the centre radiator from drafting through the upright rad.

5. Fuel tank filler
After fabricating the central fuel tank filler neck and mounting it to the tank it had to be sent away to have a custom viton rubber seal made. Or so we thought. We got back a piece of viton sheet cut out with a pair of scissors with punched holes in it. Hmm, will do the job nicely but not sure it was worth the three week wait.....
.... because we needed the fitting to use as a guide to modify the original 964 breather tank to clear the neck. Breather tank will have the hole infilled & plastic welded using the original material, which is PE-HD if you need to ask. Should be back early next week.
