Hi Colin
My question (which never pretend to offend you or your development work)
The answer you in this last post.
Just wanted to know the reason for developing a more modern model, taking the base similar to the 911 RSR 3.0 1974.
I love the mechanics, and also read the development of their projects.
I congratulate you on this initiative, Particularly With The engine design and specification.
Be a pleasure to follow the evolution of his work interesting.
Sorry fellow Forum, not understanding the reason for my question. You may not post, clearly. Sorry.
I prefer the classic Porsche, all versions and race-car air-cooled, but the combination of a large chassis, as is the 3.0 RSR, the 997 GT3 RS mechanics, can be very interesting.
Sorry, if my coment be misinterpreted. I know their previous work and very interesting.
Best regards Colin :cheers
I show him my favorite race car, also love a RS 964 Cup I have.

Then we get the enthusiast who believes the aircooled 911 to be the sole surviving heir to the true 911 lineage, a guy who does not have water running through his veins. For this man he needs an aircooled car that will compete with a 4.0 RS on track. This car is built for this man, utilising the most advanced 2012 technology to enhance the performance of the 9m11RS-R to match (or better?) the performance of the watercooled RS. Just because we can. It's that simple.

Incredible project in so many ways - so hats off for so many innovations.
I can't help thinking it would look so much better on smaller diameter wheels with smaller overall diameter tyres though. But then I am not writing the cheques...

It's been technology week at Ninemeister. It wasn't planned of course, it just came as the result of finally upgrading my fast fading old faithful Dell with a brand new Lenovo laptop and then having no choice but to geek out on the fast-track learning curve of Windows 7 from XP and Office 2010 from 2003. I suppose in ordinary circumstances you can look forward to change, but I know that there is never such a thing as a simple upgrade now that half of my programmes now refuse to run on a 64 bit computer.....
Well, in for a penny, in for a pound, so with no turning back and the benefit of an empty 160Gb SSD disc to fill and the promise of a photo update sometime over the weekend I ripped down to the shop to try out my Daughter's DSLR camera. This is all part of the meister plan to bring a new website online soon for which I will need better quality photos than I can take with a iPhone. Of course I should have planned my day better as I had not allowed for the failing late afternoon light due to the clocks going back last night, so apologies in advance for the grainy results!
First up is a mock-up gearbox oil cooler; second is the finished side oil cooler; last of these three is the RS cutoff switch & bracket.

Before anyone asks: no, the tacho is not coloured, it's good old beautiful black. The colour in the photo is actually the reflection of the Rubystone 964RS which I managed to catch in the reflection through the open door. You can also see the RS in the background behind the RSR number plate light photo.

Nice shots thanks,
Colin, I have a question on your fuel tank I hope you don't mind answering for me.
Why did you keep the extra top fuel vent tank above the main fuel tank?
What were the reasons for not removing it and adding a vent pipe with a roll over check valve to the main fuel tank?
