'93 C2 fall of 2020 purchase
Howdy, I have previously been a Porsche owner ('70 911E) and re-upped last October with the 964 that I had been looking for ever since I sold the previous Porsche. Info to add to the data base:
purchase price (in USD please): $92,500
purchase date: 10/21/20
mileage: 43,100
state or country where purchased: California
Model year: 1993
C2 or C4: C2
Coupe, targa or cab: Gran Prix White
color: Black
tip or manual: manual
NA or turbo: NA
any aftermarket accessories that came with the car (including but not limited to wheels, suspension, exhaust, seats, stereo, mirrors, pedals, steering wheel, etc.): Cup 1 wheels
did the vehicle come with tool kit: complete
did the vehicle come with tire inflator kit: yes
your assessment of the vehicle history in terms of paperwork/receipts (1-10, 10 being highest): 9
your assessment of the interior quality (1-10, 10 being highest): 10
your assessment of the exterior quality (1-10, 10 being highest): 9 (polish + ceramic subsequently so now close to 10)
your assessment of the mechanical condition of the vehicle (1-10, 10 being highest): 10
I laughed at titleistaddict87 's comment "My advice would be hold. Im seeing a lot of first time buyers with cash to spend who go for cars with lipstick smeared on. Certainly a great time to be a seller ". I agree that it is a great time to be a seller. That said this is going to be my weekend fun road car for a long long time. In the first hundred days I had it at home I put over 2,500 miles on it. Hoping it will be a fixture in my life until they take my license from me. My other weekend cars are a formula Ford that I race and an Alfa that is getting restored for rally.
For those looking to sell a C2 coupe this seems to be a great moment, witness the sale yesterday on BAT. For those looking to buy have long term ownership and enjoyment in mind. Cheers

You are correct! Paul sold my previous 911E in 7/2019 and I had been looking for pretty much 'this' car since and this one checked all of the boxes. I called Paul within an hour of his email blast and made an offer and had the car in the driveway two days later. Got my first ticket in it the next day

Paul does get some nice cars and represents them fairly. I turned a good friend onto a nice Cayman S at Autokennel a few months ago and he made a deal with Paul on the initial phone contact. It has turned out to be a great car.

Which is why I had no hesitation in calling in an offer immediately. Relationships and trust are genuinely important.Glad your friend could read the tea leaves on that initial call though the result is no surprise.

Did you guys see this Midnight Blue 3.6 Turbo Last year on P-carmarket? Bids to $230,000 Has a Red C2 Deck lid cut open for a Turbo Tail, Lower Front Tub has been repainted and spare still looks bent. I would be crucified for selling a 3.6 turbo like this back in the day. Are 3.6 turbo buyers desperate or lacking knowledge? Here's the link..... https://www.pcarmarket.com/auction/1...midnight-blue/

BTW that car has so much wrong with it I agree the bid to $231k is excessive and I don't think many actually have an understanding of these.

Cobalt,My old 94 3.6 Turbo Salvage was sold at the Lowest price in History. No flaws just paint work. $54,000 sale price in 1999. Buyers didn't like it at the time because of the carpet fibers were slightly worn and tape lines in the jams. This one had partial leather with sport seats. I converted the car back from a Club racer to stock. $231,000 for a incorrectly repaired car from front and rear accidents is stupidity.

Someone should tell RM they have 993 Sunroof Switch and 993 Tail switches installed in this 964 RSR console. The car has no sunroof and a fixed tail. Needs the Cup insert. Stoddard has it.

Actually $54k for a 3.6T with S title, paintwork and issues in 1999 was stupid strong money. It took me a very long time to find a unique color all original paint low mile example and finally found what I wanted in 2002. I won't say what I paid but it wasn't far off what you sold yours for. These were hovering around $55k for a nice example and sub 8k mile cars in unique colors were bringing maybe $85k at the time. I looked at countless 3.6T's back then and many had issues already some with doors replaced and several with poorly repaired accident damage. I contemplated buying a 3.6T which had been stolen twice and was recovered from a chop shop in pieces in 2000. I offered $27k and they ended up selling it for $43k. I was in shock The car had more needs than you can count. About 8-10 years ago my friend showed me pics of the same car and I immediately recognized it from the damage showing in the pictures that wasn't repaired properly. It was at Mecum and was bid up to $175k back then by that time the S title had been cleaned but the car was still in poor condition. I can go on with some crazy money spent on these for cars with needs. Low mile examples with complete resprays and much more. Supply and demand. Demand is high and supply is nearly nonexistent. Many I speak with aren't willing to spend $300k for a car without needs so you have to buy and fix or move on I guess. Although usually you pay the same one way or another.
