No it certainly is not a 3-axis part. The design would make a lot more sense as a casting, but I doubt we will have the volume to justify that. So 5-axis it is.

Speaking of castings... here is the 2nd sample from SPA. It looks great I think. Hopefully later today we’ll have some new dyno results.

It’s close. I bolted it on today and they are some minor machining/tolerance issues to resolve. But other than than I think it’s good.

Nice numbers, and congrats on figuring out the belt issue! So, this harmonic balancer. The part number I've found is 07K105243H , If bought from overseas it doesn't look that pricey for an extra 700 rpm! Maybe there's some interchangeability between the TTRS/RS3 other Audi's? Or maybe the tensioner pulley being made will have a similar effect?
Looking forward to seeing some new listings on Boost Brothers Garage's website!!!

Fantastic work!

Torque went up rather nicely, I especially like to see the run where peak was already at 2560 rpm.

So does this mark the end of the NA development? Here's hoping to see new cams!

We want to do some more track testing and there are some slight tolerance issues we need to look at on the new intake but we are all but done!

Those sure are pretty! Looks like you guys are almost in the home stretch here. Now we just need to see Alan's turbo be built to iron out any turbo specific kinks if any exist.

That's a thing of beauty!!

I don't recall what all the ports go to on that thing but are some used for the HVAC system? I know the big barb goes to the radiator and that there is a temp sensor involved with another but not sure about the others.

I'm not sure what the race car vs. street car percentage among us is but would it be viable to make two versions with one omitting any non-critical (HVAC, etc) ports to reduce machining cost/end cost on it a bit? I know machine shops tend to price things in quantities so if it's not viable I have no issue paying whatever one of those will cost but figured I would check to see if that's a possibility.

Yeah there's the main hose barb that goes to the radiator, a coolant bypass for the heater core, an expansion port that goes to the reservoir up front, and a threaded port for the temp sensor that goes to either the stock 944 gauge cluster or the PE 8400... The specifics are somewhere in this thread, not sure where though.

Oh ok. If it's only one barb different it's probably easiest for those of us that don't need it to just cap it off.

1: Factory 07K CTS for ECU
2: 944 CTS for gauges if using stock
3: Steam vent to expansion tank
4: Bypass from tstat or heater core

None of this ports are HVAC-specific, but the second largest barb (tstat bypass) would route to a heater valve and then to the thermostat housing. If you don’t want heat in your car, then you’d run directly to the tstat housing.

Other than dimensional changes to fit a 944 better, the only differences on this part vs stock is the addition of a steam vent port to connect to the expansion tank, and a port for the 944 coolant temp sensor that connects to the instrument cluster.

So we're looking at probably 1-2 months for the coolant parts, and 2ish maybe 3 months for the intake manifolds?
