Slight update.

I'm still slowly trying to work the boost curve, haven't had much time to do it.

A friend got a video of me being enthusiastic leaving his house while it was damp.
It was the first time i've head my car from the rear and not inside.

That turbo looks slightly bigger then a gt3071r. IMO you'll get better spool times then me and i don't think it'll hurt top end tomuch at all. but because you've got a cam and ported head, you should see good numbers with that setup.
Thanks. Just as I hoped it would be. Build is moving along slowly, will post some dyno charts when it's finished.

Now go get us som E85 Dynos and movies of your car

I love Ralph Wiggum posts.

Was thinking of the same turbo on my car: stock turbo S, full 3" exhaust, Lindsay MAF with 55lb injectors, Tial 38, Greddy Profec, AEM WB, polished head on fresh valve job.

I need to select a turbocharger, was thinking of a GT30 such as yours: recommendations??

Thanks, Mark.

If you're up for all the custom work, go for it!
(custom up pipe, down pipe, oil adapters, oil line, water lines)
I'd scrap the Linsday MAF and go with the M-Tune with the bigger injector option
I'd use a .63 A/R hot housing also.

Pauly nailed it with the above statements. +1 on the .63 A/R. I found it did not choke power into the 400whp at all. Instant boost. And Mark.. I'm practically down the street from you. Stop by anytime your near Houston.

I was talking to Vic at Pautertuning a while ago about his set up with the .63, he was saying because his shroud wasn't ported, that he got some compressor surge onto boost just because how quickly it spools up.

gotta be honest, i still love my setup. I actually love the lag, it makes people think they have a chance lol!

I was actually talking to Thom about about boost recovery with my turbo. I was actually pretty surprised how will it recovers after shifts. You would think it'll be a lot worse.

Not sure about the spikes just yet. i'll figure that one out soon

Its .16 seconds from gear change WOT to full boost.

2nd - 3rd - 4th

Yeah I recognize the Clock-wise running of TWS in your GIF: nice!

I'll plan on that turbocharger, though my T3 turbine is a .63AR, just not sure if the T4 compressor will fit. It's a 60-1 Hi-fi single Ballbearing from ITS; needs a new turbine wheel but made 385/425 rwhp/tq on my 911 turbo before I pulled it off.

Mark
sounds like the power dies off quickly on your 911 by judging from the maximum torque and hp

What you you mean the T4 compressor will fit? fit what?

no it pulled pretty hard up top: no dyno sheets handy, been a few years. That was at 1.2 bar. at 1.0 bar it made 365/365rw. It's not a small compressor housing & has a 4" inlet, unsure it'll fit but I'm willing to "make" it fit.

Kinda ugly in this pic but I'm sure it'll clean up. Man did that engine spool hard!

3.3l @ 7:1 vs a 2.5l @ 8:1, shouldn't be too much worse.

what i ment was the torque would have dropped a fair bit from peak torque. none the less, that is still a lot of power.

if you gained 60 ft/lb torque and only 20 rwhp from 3 psi.. it sounds like the turbo is at it's limit or theres a bottle neck somewhere. but man that thing must rip you back quite hard. since the very low ent 7:1 CR torque! wow.

If it all goes well you should see around 350-380 rwhp.

I was out of fuel, otherwise I would have done better. AF's surpassed 12:1 at about 385rw so the pass was incomplete. Backed the boost back down to 1.1 for the street.
