I wasn't completely happy with the oil cooling of the RX7-cooler last year. I've altered some stuff about the cooler since, hopefully it will work better now. Otherwise I'm getting a large Setrab.

Duke, what sort of oil temps are you seeing anyway? I've been running around with my newly installed temp gauge and not even seeing more than low 90's centigrade. We've done a few mods to the cooling but wonder how much oil cooling you'll need in down town Svenska?

Don't remember exactly but I think saw 120+ C at some points! The sensor was in turbo drain plug which probably doesn't correspond well to the rest of the oil, especially when running a BB turbo with a 0.035" oil inlet restrictor. I suspect the small amount of oil flow through the turbo get heated up super quickly.

Some days during summer it's 30 deg C in the shade here so we do get some heat.

Yes true enough. The location does probably make some difference. Having said that, what is the optimal location really?

Ha, yes I knew Sweden sees some nice Summer temps. Seen it in some movies, just don't ask me their titles.

It's still messy under the hood but first things first.
At 35% throttle I get 0.4 bar almost instantly at 3000 rpm in third gear. Good bye turbo lag!

Very promising Duke! I bet it makes a nice sound too. Great work. I'm counting down to see your upcoming videos.

Yeah the GoPro sucks in the sound department! And we all know sound is at least half the experience of a car

I did around 50 miles with car yesterday. The engine is working perfectly and the map is around 95% finished. But it's the last 5% of the fuel and ignition maps that takes month's...
Still running with crap dino oil so the rev limit is set to 5000. But even with a 5000 rpm limit and 0,5-0,6 bar of boost it feels very nice.

Having some interferance from my starter (as I had last year) so I'm moving the crank sensor to the front instead. The hall sensor at the cam is broken so I'm still running in batch. No panic to get that fixed but a new sensor is ordered so I can switch to seq fuelling.

The oil pressure sensor leaks so a new one plus a few other small gaskets is on order. After that is fixed a 3rd oil change will be done (to Castrol Edge RS 10w-60) and then the rpm limit will be raised and harder driving awaits

My 295 rubs in the rear so I have to fiddle with different spacers to get the optimal setup with maximum track without rubbing. Will try the violent tricks as well on the fender

Are compressor covers all oriented the same way?
A counter-clockwise cover might help cleaning up the IC pipes layout?
Just an aesthetic observation though

I didn't know the hall sensor allowed for running sequential injection. Does that mean all original 16V models have sequential injection? Or do you use it this sensor to allow the Tec3 to run sequential?

Very nice anyway, I really like the green/red combo.

Thanks!

Unfortunately all turbo's are clockwise (besides a few diesel turbos I think), beleive me I have thought about the same thing!

First of all the engine managament must be capable of sequential injection and you must wire the injectors separateley etc, but when it comes to triggering it's the cam sensor that makes it capable.

I don't think the 16v models have seq. injection but they all use a modern type triggering with 60-2 crank + hall cam.

I run a Link G3 Plus/G4 EMS.

Evos 5-9 have anticlockwise turbos, and the 6.5 and 9rs in particular are great responsive turbos, but not quite big enough for your application.

Are you using a stock sensor? And getting kickback?

There is actually an updated sensor mount that might help....
