Haha Deap Sea Diving belt - that's good! In Fredrik's defense he has more weight on the arms rather than the belly. So much for keeping the CoG low!!

The Evo was on slicks and the filming car is a E46 M3 CSL. But I have to point out that on the previous session when we were driving just a tad more aggressive no one passed, even with the diving belt in the passenger seat!

I've started tuning for a little more boost now. It's amazing how fast the car feels at only 0.8 bar of boost

So true! A 16v with short runner intake has a much more race-like tone than a regular 8v
Watched first time your video with speakers on. I wish i wouldn't. Now i am wondering if you still have that S2 head for sale

My 3.0 has a lower CR than yours so it may not be quite as fast off boost, but I am also impressed by how fast it goes with little to no boost, perhaps more so than when on full boost, as this is where I can feel the biggest difference in power delivery with the 2.5. That's not saying it isn't faster on boost than the 2.5, it's just that it pushes you forward such effortlessly even when only feathering the throttle - It is almost difficult to drive slowly, which is extremely rewarding & satisfying!

Very true, that makes the 1 bar @ xxxx rpm comparisons between 2.5 and 3 l engines useless. 3l engines feel fast also during spool up and transient conditions.

Yes, that sound is nice - even better out on the track! Here is a 'close up' of the sound....

BTW - I have some 16v head that I could trade for some of your nice parts Olli!

Yes, I remember this feeling you guys describe. This is the torque that will drive us out of corners faster than waiting for our little 2.5s to reach higher revs. Can't wait to become reaquainted with this again.

Yup, Duke´s car is a fast one for sure, I got a little test ride yesterday, stomach was turning. Thing is, now that he has only driven the car on track with me in it, evaluation of improvements must be performed under the same conditions = deep sea diving belt and high CoG. It´s a tough job, but I will offer my services for the sake of science. In swedish the word would be "burkslav", guess you´ll find some interesting suggestions using google translate.

No, that's reserved for those running anything less than a GT3582R!

OK, so which deffinition is most apt?

I immediately came up with "Jar Slave", "Passenger", and "Monkey"..

You guys crack me up....

Oh, and the video is BAD ***! I wonder what the 911 driver was thinking at the 15 second mark when you pulled past him on the long straight?

Hehe "Jar Slave" resulted in some semi-strange stuff on google image search

Always fun passing 911's, even if it was a non boosted variant!
