If it's not going to be a deep green cam cover, I'd sand it back to polished or semi polished Duke. As much as I like Red and Green, just not on your beauty.

Can't wait to see progress and completion. Very nice work. Best of luck.

What Patrick meant to say was he wants the valve cover in carbon fiber to match the green on your car and also the rear wing, hood and probably lots of other parts on his own car I don't know about.

Good point Patrick "carbon *****", I agree. You're like the interior decorator of cars. Watch out though, Dave might steal your carbon stature at some point in the near future...

Keep this thread alive, moarrr pictures.

LOL, the carbon *****!
I really value Patrick's opinions but then I suddenly remember he's got a clear coated carbon hood just like the neon light guys

I want to get some body parts made out of c/f. Does that make me a c/f ho??

Actually Duke most R spec are wide for what they say on the sidewall. Sort of fudges the rules a bit.
I'll be interested how you go with them on the rear once back on the road. What are you going for up front?

You're our number one c/f ho... and we like it, keep it up

Yes but the R888 supposedly are the widest of all R spec's compared to their markings. Probably to cheat on some max width racing rules somewhere
265/35 up front. Only have 9" wide front wheels so cannot go wider

We don't speak hobbit, we either scream or gesticulate.

Got this picture of the "elderly engine hobbit of the northern highlands"´s car, known as the green hunter. It looks even better in reality..

Hey Duke – it works better to put a metal bar across the top of the block (in line with the crank) and then measure how much that moves up at TDC…the way you have your dial indicator set up you will see quite a bit of change when the piston rocks in the bore.

BTW – a nice benefit of the MID sleeve is that you have a lot for surfaces that the magnetic stand can attach to!

first comment was in reference to this pic -
