I have heard from a reliable source that the area around the cam tensioner needs to be strengthened if you are going to turbo a S2 motor. Can anyone verify if this is the case?

The S2 cam tensioner is held in place with two bolts, both of which are on the same plane and attached to the same spark plug well for cylinder #3. This leaves the tensioner cantilevered out, and puts more strain on the head casting. This was changed on the 968 head, where the tensioner/vario-cam actuator, mounts using the same two points as the S2 head, but also adds a third connection point at the cylinder #2 spark plug well. So the factory felt the S2 design needed some reinforcement and incorporated it into the 968 head.

The only reason more stress would be added with a turbo application, is if the spring rates were increased or cam profile were made more aggressive. But, it you were putting a lot of money into a turbo S2 motor, it might be worth addressing for overall reliability.

If there is a turbo on this motor it's incredibly well hidden... is it in the airbox?

I have been to the dyno again with my 3 liter 951.
This time with a new homemade intake and a little more boost.
The best run gave 466 RWHP so 58 more hp then the last time

The Porsche text is made in a cnc milling machine.
Dyno run was made with pump gas at 1.5 bar of boost(22 psi)

The engine is a S2 block,104.5 mm wössner pistons 8.0 CR and Wössner rods.
Turbo cylinderhead with MLS headgasket.
Lindsey Racing super 75 T4 turbo and Lindsey maf and #72 injectors.
Homemade headers similar to the ones made by Speedforce racing.

Any details? Hours/miles? Compression/leak-down good? What all is included? Bone stock, with original head, pistons, bores, intake, dme/klr, harness, etc.? Any pictures?

I will get some pictures up. The motor was pulled from a Factory Turbo S car back in 2000 to put it into a car built to run the Rolex 24. I purchased the car and did some club racing and decided to build a new motor to preserve this piece of valuable factory history. The motor was freshened by PCNA in 2000 before the race. The car did not qualify for the 24 hour race and was never raced until I purchased it, so it is in great shape. It comes with the wiring harness and custom tuned DME Motronic by Protosport.
I will post some pictures soon.
