Thanks, glad to know! I still have more to do and imagine it will take a while to sort out driving but I sure did learn a lot and if I find a speed yellow coupe I would do it all over again

I know what you mean, Speed Yellow is a great colour on the 968. Here is the one from a friend (who's too shy to register on here...)

Looking foward to hearing how you get on with the tune, wouldn't you mind starting a build thread?

Car is great and congratulations on your perseverance and skills! But I think you should do a separate build thread. More people will want to look at it vs coming onto a generic thread that they won't see.

Thanks Patrick. I will create a build thread right before I start it for the first time. Did not want to at first cause if it blows I'd feel stupid. But since that is a common feeling for me, why deny the board the chance to share in my possible misfortune.

About perseverance...I know you know a little something about that...While working on my car I followed what you have been doing with yours so I know you understand a little something about perseverance as well

hello guys

It has been a long time since I have been on this forum. Been busy doing my thing.
I was allowed to share my latest. Finished dyno tune of 3.1L turbo 4v motor that is dry sump with a 5 stage pump, has a 968 head without the vario cam, solid followers, custom billet cams with adjustable gears(custom design by me), stock 88mm stroke crank, custom aged 625+ head studs 1/2 in diameter, pinned girdle, 300m Arrow rods, custom exhaust by me, big garrett turbo, custom barrel intake with custom runner, custom cp pistons, special valves for solid followers, custom springs, etc.

Running engine with a Motec M400 w/knock control and flex fuel meter. Not gone over 1.4 bar No need to, but could go to 2.0 bar. Lots of development but done finally.

Amazing build Ivan! I've known of this one for a while and been speaking with Zoran about it. Congrats to both you and him for seeing it through.

What rpm limits do you see with this one? Any guesses what % for transmission losses? I was wondering about the location of the d/s pump for a RHD car. Did you need to modify the head much in terms of porting? What oil are you recommending running in this motor?

Thanks for posting it!

Thanks for the kind words. Lot of work to get there as it always is with stuff like this. He was quite the gentleman and allowed me to take the proper time to have good outcome.
Going to limit rev's to 7200. The motor as you can see by the graphs does not need to go higher, plenty there to manage. Going higher is just going to cut the time between builds. Plenty of oil pressure just under 15 psi per thousand.
As for trans lose I want to say 14 to 17% is a realistic number. Will know as soon as engine goes in the car as we have a chassis dyno as well and are going to test it. He is coming state side mid month to go for spin and arrange transport of car.
Location for dry sump for right hand drive is not a problem as it has been checked and verified with many pics and measurements with subframe bolted on engine.
The head was modified some in the port as the 968 port is pretty big. The head required some more work for the lobes to clear the follower bores. Some other mods for tensioner location and reinforcement of the area.
I am going to recommend Zoran to run Motul 300v. It is good ****!

It's a really tight squeeze with our steering shafts and the headers (custom) on our rhd cars.
I hope Zoran puts this motor in his awesome Orange 968 turbo body that he's been spending some serious time customising. It will be an amazing combination! Looks like not the largest hotside housing. What size exhaust do you suggest for the car Ivan?

ps...any news on the Blue car in your Avatar?

Wow nice build! What is the plate at the chaintensioner for? And where did the cams come from?

Patrick is indeed right.. I think.. About the small hotside! I think mine is a lot bigger..
