I measured mine at 33cc. I have no idea what head Andial had in mind when they decided to market these as 8:1 pistons, but with an '89 2.7 head they come out over 8:5:1.

Thanks Tom. Did you also measure the depth of the bowl?
I would like to know how much valve lift is tolerable.

Hi Urs,

Thanks for the info. I'm not sure your pistons are the same as mine, but yes I would like to know the depth of the bowl for mine.

PS : check your e-mail

I have a set of 104.5 Mahle/Andials on the shelf. What measurements would you like?

I would like to know the depth of the piston bowl to get an idea of how much I can increase valve lift in the case I try a different cam.

Thom, I will pull a piston out and measure this week. Meant to yesterday but ran out of time.

In the meantime, I have a question for you 3L folks. I've noticed that my timing belt runs very far forward on my cam gear -- actually hanging off the front of the gear by half a mm or so. I have my theories but curious if anyone is seeing this on their 3 liter motor -- particularly those with 89 8v heads...?

Tom, the timing belt on mine does not align quite perfectly with the middle of the cam gear, but it definitely does not hang off the way you describe.
