We did, and thanks for bringing it to my attention. There are a combination of factors at work on that car. Foremost is that classic car sales have slowed dramatically in Europe as economic conditions have made buyers more cautious about purchases. Then there is the higher miles, wrong wheels and rear bumper cover being from a GTS accompanied by the difficulty of matching those pearl metallic colors.

But it is a super rare car and I'm a bit surprised that it has not found an appreciative collector. Someone will recognize it as a real XX8 and it will disappear into a collection.

Then again at that price and with the higher miles It could become a casual driver. It's affordable!

Sorry cannot add the link.
Thanks Kevin. I don't use Facebook but I'll see if I can find it. If the engine's been rebuilt it's worthy of consideration.

I wonder if it's going to flirt with $100k like the perfect early specimen that @Rob Edwards sold on BaT a few months ago. Don't think Hellblau is as sought after as Petrol or Minerva though...

it did. It flirted pretty close to that 100k mark.

again, I’m biased here but I get it. Early body in a good blue + pasha = win

I hope that this car is as described not like this one from the same seller. Buyer beware!

One of our locals is selling his 89 S4 AT. He's up in Anacortes WA. This 928 has some rennlist history with some cool bits/tuning.
And a decent price to boot.

Default 86.5 for sale

87k miles. Comes with full set of factory manuals, original polished manhole covers and tires, car cover. Stack of service records dating back 35 years. Everything on this car works with the exception of the disconnect be the washer fluid reservoir and the neck, inside the fender. Recently serviced last month. All new brakes and rotors last year, plus 2 new tires last season. This is the interior from the Classic9 ad in the back of Panorama. You can pick up and drive this anywhere. $33k. Canton Ohio

As opposed to hoping, you could compare the seller's description vs the 2018 auction.
https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1980-porsche-928-6/
You will find not much changed as little miles were added, and only a few additional services were performed.
Seems rather moot to suggest here that the buyer beware. Who are you trying to reach, really? Have you purchased a car from the seller... or only limited indirect experience?

Hi Rob,

There has been a little sleep and a lot of alcohol since then ... I can remember 7 for sure.

I did the repairs amounting to $10K+. The pictures were not indicative of the car. For example, pictures of the dash showed it to be perfect. Not! the new owner purchased a NOS dash from Porsche. Paint full of nicks and bad touchup. There is a reason the first buyer didn't follow through on this car especially for $52K. I stand by my statement: "Beware of Veloce1600"

Were the pictures of the dash in a favorable angle and not showing issues, or are you saying that the dash that was received was simply not the one that was photographed? Quality of paint is incredibly hard to capture on photos and videos but shipping a car with parts that are not the ones shown in the auction is likely a breach of that contract, and I'm sure the buyer has recourse with BaT, especially with a power-seller like 1600 Veloce that sells hundreds of cars a year on the platform.

FYI there's an 1988 Auto on Cars and bids, 26mins left on auction as of this post, current bid is $15,750.
Guards red over black, looks good IMHO

Edit: that was the selling price, someone got a good deal
