Grey green interior usually is! but lacks the euro side lights

I'm a bit biased (my car is essentially the same specs - sunroof and + 50k miles) but this is a really nice OB.

I wonder if it's going to flirt with $100k like the perfect early specimen that @Rob Edwards sold on BaT a few months ago. Don't think Hellblau is as sought after as Petrol or Minerva though...

Local to me, 1990 S4 auto. Red, tan/black interior.

I've met the fella and seen the car, although it was a couple years ago. It was pretty nice back then, no reason to believe it's any different now (don't actually know, but the pics show pretty much the same as what I saw).

I'm not a denizen of this thread - one 928 is plenty for me - but someone sent me a link to this car and I don't see it discussed here. A fairly ordinary '83, it seems to me, but just 8631 miles at an "aspirational" price.

Facebook Post

Edit: Once posted, I see a message about this post being no longer available, even though I can see it. A Facebook Marketplace thing? Don't understand. Will delete upon advice.

Yes, it's a problem with FB Marketplace and the forum. You can put it into a 'code' tag to reveal the URL.

The car has some mods which, while period correct, are certainly not what I'd want to see on a $105k car.

... and if it's a link inside a Facebook Group and not the Marketplace, if that group is a private group like many of the Porsche ones are, you won't be able to link to the post.

It should probably be noted, (unless someone modified it which is highly unlikely, but again unknown to me) that particular SuperCharger was NOT Intercooled. That was the only TwinScrew DR ever did without it. She was my car and a test to see how the 928 behaved with a non-intercooled TwinScrew. She ran like a scalded dog in the mountains of WNC and the non-intercooled version was never an issue for us.... But again, that was 5 owners and close to 15 years ago. Just some FYI for anyone that is looking at purchasing it.

She was always a great car and I hope she finds a great home somewhere within our family.

Jeannie

Jeannie, out of curiosity, do you know how many TwinScrew systems ended up being produced?

Dave: Hey Dave
Dave: Hey! Dave!
Dave: There’s a ‘90GT up your way. I was wondering if you could go take a look at it for me.
Dave: hmmm… sure.

I think I still have a few pictures of it I took and sent to yaw’ll.

I tried to get one of “my folks” to buy it from Shaun. But, you can lead a horse to water…

Hopefully it’ll end up somewhere good.

The transaxle in that GT came out of a parts car that I bought from Dan Prantl. Brian needed it because the fifth gear coupler with broken. The transaxle, when I sold it to Brian, had 250k miles on it. He had to keep the 90 GT differential for the odometer pickup. Just adding more history to the car. The transaxle that I got in return has been sitting in a cooler for the past over 10 years.

That is a great looking car and the low mileage should mean you will get a very good premium. Good luck with the sale. May I ask you as one 1992 owner to another, what it is your oil consumption like on this 1992. I see that you are still using the 1992MY only crankcase breather setup. Do you drive this car hard (eg 5000+ RPM shifts) I am curious to know if you get some oil smoke of high rpm decellerations. I noticed this on my 1992 5SPD with 70K miles, and I am thinking it's time to drill the pistons. Feel free to DM me since this is not really related to the for sale thread.

Michael,
I just returned from a weekend Concours at the Greenbrier in eastern West Virginia. Knowing my oil consumption issues on my early (April 1992 production date) 71K miles '93 GTS. I discovered the worst of the smoking today was long decelerations on 5% grades through the mountains and between shifts in easy driving.Total of 600 miles for the weekend. I checked the oil this morning for the first 300 miles of the trip and it was just below the full mark which I was surprised. I will check in the morning where it is at the 600+ miles I put on it. My plan is to have the engine pulled and evaluated by Howard Wright in Atlanta later this Summer.

I'm earnestly in the hunt for a 93-95 GTS 5-spd. If any of you GTS owners are considering selling your car, please let me know via PM/DM. The car needs to be a 5-spd, located in the US, have under 80k miles, be original, service up to date and not be silver, white or red. Bonus if there are no rub strips. Or, if you happen to know someone with a car that meets my criteria, please point them to this post. I'm near Denver and prepared to travel anywhere in the US to see the car. I am quite serious and there will be no tire-kicking or lowballing. Not interested in a GT or 5-spd S4.

BaT hasn't had one in a while and I haven't seen much at the consignment dealers lately.
