$9k for a non- runner is very steep. You’ll need to spend a lot potentially to wake it up. Also, who knows what the heads are like if it sat for 20 years with the same coolant.. no engine pics either.
dince the early cars in great shape have been recent home runs, everything else is coming out of the wood work expecting similar results. Don’t bite.
Thanks Curt for this video. I absolutely loved it. Yes that is the new reality of OB prices for cars that "need nothing", at least today. I'm honored to own one!

The Q is whether it is a non runner because it needs a new fuel pump, or whether is needs a complete engine rebuild. An engine bay photo would be great, I agree. Seems to have had fluids removed. Interior is in ok condition,
which in AZ means it was likely garaged for those 20 years. Good interior is almost worth $9k on its own today. There looks to be a fuel pump or filter hanging in the back. I guess that's how the fuel was drained. If simple
fix, definitely worth it. OBs are gaining in price. My take on it, I may be wrong.
I found this car here 2.25 yrs ago. Now with 78K miles. Drove it 5 hrs home (barely) and put lots of work into making it a solid daily driver. Jobs tackled include TB/WB and reseal of front and bottom with mounts and shocks, all new A/C, 2 tires, radiator, new flex fuel, brake, oil cooler, and PS hoses, H4 headlights, rear shocks, rebuilt CV joints, rebuilt CC module, new door speakers, new odo gear and pod lights, new shifter linkages, harmonic balancer, fuel strainer, pump, filter, accumulator, and injectors, WUR rebuild, upper ball joint rebuild, front brake rotors and pads, and of course the blue on black pasha interior. Was originally black leather but with non-original paint I went with my heart. Full list of maintenance with costs and notes to serious buyers.
Car was originally Grand Prix White, then painted a lovely blue then repainted to original GPW. There is one crack in the gauge pod; the dash has 1 long and a few short cracks. ANSA exhaust is tired (Borla is 2 months out). Phone dials with centers painted white.
Mods are short shifter and LEDs outside, both of which can be reversed with original parts. Alpine stereo with amp and boxed rear speakers.
Needs - interior lights, trip odo, headlight ball sockets, occasionally it idles at 1600 then drops to 900. There is a slight oil leak from either the top of the engine or cam boxes. Steering rack needs centered, leaks slightly. Has been driven nearly every week for months. Frequent shower at HVH. More pics on request. Engine #; green wire in good shape. Garaged. Night shot, from day of purchase. Pasha done by Sonderwerks.
What do people think the current peak value of an S4 is?
Checking auction results, Hagerty, etc., etc., I'm coming up with something like 35-40K for autos and 45-50K ish for manuals. This is for a low mileage car in near perfect condition cosmetically and mechanically.
this is the first time ive taken a look at pcar market. the auction format looks identical to BAT. anyone know what their reputation is for success/ bringing proper value, compared to BAT?
