Someone is going to get a deal. Posted 5 hours ago, someone go get this boys. I don’t have room right now or this would be tempting
This car is now $7500 on Facebook.
I'd be happy to go look at it for anyone. All I need is reimbursement for travel from Denver, two nights of luxury lodging in Steamboat Springs, passes for Strawberry Hot Springs, snacks for foliage hikes. two breakfasts at Freshies and a modest budget for visiting breweries.
Running problem is almost certainly in the CIS. A pain, and/or some expense. But not something you would want to part a car like that out for. There is someone on here who will take your whole CIS system, rebuild it all, and return it to you ready to bolt on and run. Or you can do it yourself for under $400 and years of your life.
The CIS could be a pain. But I surely don't think so. I went through my whole system methodically with the pressure gauge, Bosch instructions and the knowledge from the web. My system works great and starts on the button. The CIS has a bad rep because people don't give it time to fully learn and understand what all the parts do together. Hence you cannot do a good diagnosis and understand where to begin your fault-finding...
I don't have 9000$ to spare but If I did I would absolutely buy this car regardless of the rough idle...

Thanks for posting, Pete. I wasn't entirely convinced myself but it is time. I'm anxious to get after my 86 Euro and I still have #11 to complete. I hope it does well but I'm pretty sure if it sells it will be for way less than I have in it!
I have examined this car if anyone is interested or wants pricing insight
1985 Porsche 928 · Coupe · Driven 141,000 miles
1985 Porsche Euro 928S. All guages are metric. 4.7L, 5 speed. Runs and drives great! Brakes work. Sounds awesome! Not a perfect show car, but with a little work it could be. Rear passenger tail light is broken, passenger side door molding is missing, dents in drivers side rear quarter panel. Slight oil leak, slight fuel leak from return line. Will need new fuel level sending unit. All kinds of paperwork ( owners manuals and service records back to '85 ), and the original set of wheels. Located in Maine, USA. $15,000 obro
1985 Euro S 5-speed C00 - German market M28.21 - engine serial # range 82F 00001 >05000 G28.10 - transmission serial # range 11F 00001>05000 Interior code LA S2- Garnet red metallic QC2- Standard seats without heating in Greyish green, full leather 8JK- greyish green carpet
M058 - "Impact absorbers front and rear, Bumper with shock absorber instead of shock absorber-tube" M261 - Outside mirror - plain-passenger's side, electrically adjustable and heatable I319 - Changed set-up of fan (additional engine cooling for hot climate countries) - 86 mm pulley instead of 106 mm I330 - Blaupunkt Atlanta SQR 23 I415 - Widening of the gauge on the track on the rear axle I490 - Hi-Fi sound system ( 8 speakers, balance control, 1980-86.5) ("Equipment Group IV") M533 - Alarm I567 - Windshield tinted, upper part I593 - Antilock brake system (Bosch)
I feel like that car would be worth three times the current ask in a different location and with the seats repaired. I wish I could come up with a single excuse to go after it myself.

Down to $6,500 OBO! It's been listed for 3 weeks, he'd probably take $5k at this point.
My wife and I actually plan to be in Steamboat on a yet-to-be-decided weekend in October, and if it's still available I would be happy to look at it for anyone who has genuine interest. I'll even be paying for my own hotel and meals.
