It would need to be painted at some point, there's two missing spots of clear coat on the roof, one small dent, one small wheel arch issue (hit something)??? Would not stay running.
Interior is pretty good. There is some spot in the drivers seat to fix. No sunroof. I think its a car to pick up for 8500.
I believe it needs an alternator or ground strap for the running issue. I think you could sort it out cheap less the paint. You could 100% polish and buff it and get many years out of the paint its in a garage. The guy inherited it from his father in law a couple years ago. The car looks solid short of deferred maintenance.
No sunroof. One rub strip to fix. I wanted to do it but I have two 928 projects on going so ultimately I opted to get my ZZZ fix off of BAT. I just cant take on a project now. Lots of cars at 80% to finish I would love to see this rare car go to a good home.

I didn't jack it up but will say on my 82 that snugging the oil pan bolts and changing the $2 rear can seal did the trick.
Some surface rust at rear quarter windows (common to cars that need to be painted)
driver rear fender lip needs foxed when painted
I think he had some record of the timing belt via the father in.law but can't remember. I would assume you should do the belt, WP, and tensioner
Given where the market is and the miles I would buy it for $8500 if accepted. Its been for sale for a while.

Burning Brakes
78 5-Speed with 58K miles
This one looks like a drivable dream to me. Recent maintenance, complete, 5-speed 78 with low miles.
It's on Facebook in San Martin, CA for $8500. This site won't let me post FB links.

found it. I stand corrected, that price actually seems about right, based on the condition of the car. It looks like it has led a hard life, and I doubt if the odo works and the miles are correct. Still, at that price, worth fixing up. The rear bumper cover would need to be replaced, as it is cracked all the way through on the right rear corner. Who knows what the engine bay looks like, and so forth. Still maybe worth the risk. A 5 speed 78, with pin stripe interior.

I'd love to read the full back story on that car.
I didn't document it here because it was essentially the same journey as documented in William's #107 Minerva thread- started with really good (but neglected) bones and ended up with a nice car. That, plus I'm a little more over-employed than I was in 2015-2016, so I haven't really had the bandwidth.
