Soooo... need some advice.

Which of these current 928's for sale in EU should I go for?.

1993 GTS Auto done 133K km with changed instrument cluster (by Porsche @ approx 50K km) and complete full body repaint replicating Amazon Green, and grey leather interior: https://www.autoscout24.com/offers/porsche-928-gts

1994 GTS Auto (possibly Amazon Green, but dealer is taking ages to get back to me) done 159K km with nice spec and grey leather interior: https://suchen.mobile.de/fahrzeuge/d...end_DES&vc=Car

or a 1991 GT Manual in dark blue pearl (full body repaint) with black leather and basic optioned spec, done 74K km : https://www.autoscout24.com/offers/porsche-928

I think I can get either of them for around €50,000 (approx $50K USD). Personally I prefer manual, as have owned an auto S4 previously. But manual GTS are all quite high kms or asking approx $30K more here for same or similar kms and spec. And I prefer the lighter interior since my S4 was white over black. Thoughts?

91GT, hands down, though I understand the preference for lighter interiors.

Love this GT and would be all over it just 4 months ago. I’m doing all the same work to my ‘90 GT. You did a helluva great job with it. I hope I can do the same with mine. Best of luck with the auction.

another vote for the GT. the GTS can bring bigger money (condition, mileage, etc.), but i'd want that manual gearbox. the GT would be my #1 choice if i were getting back into a 928. that or an early OB with 5 speed, no spoiler, no rubs.

Yeah, I'm really on the fence. If only there was a nice GT with that grey interior, I wouldn't hesitate. There is a GT done 153K km for sale privately, with a different dark blue and two-toned blue/cream leather interior. But the guy doesn't respond to email or phone, and is asking approx €15K too much IMHO (€60K).

As a current owner of multiple GT's and a GTS automatic, I can say that I prefer the GT's performance and driver engagement. They have a free revving engine that the larger displacement GTS can't quite match in responsiveness. For looks and a long distance road car, the GTS is better looking and a bit quieter. My thought is the the GT's are the sleeper investment cars of the 928's, they are the direct descendants of the ultra rare Club Sports and the GTE.

You have found some nice cars, you have an enjoyable decision to make!

Amazon is not an easy color to replicate although it is a fantastic color no matter what shade you end up with. I have seen some more blue others more green. When I purchased mine I wanted cobalt or Iris and so did everyone else. They still do but Amazon is right up there these days and a gorgeous color on these.

I tell you irrespective of the GTS hips which I love and the prerequisite rub strip delete. There is something about the RoW models with the simple side marker placement that I find much more appealing.

I wonder if this is the same 93 back in 2018.

I don't read German.

The paper told the car was complete engine restored at Porsche Madrid in Spain with new pistons and Alusil sleeves and has only 300 miles driven since the job was done.
Transaxle is also overhauled and modified(clamp)?
The engine is Porsche approved for 1-2 years?
All work done is on pictures and the car has a big paper documentation so history is known.

Hope it helps.

Not the same car... that one has Spanish plates, and the Amazon GTS top of my post (1st one) was delivered in Germany and I have sighted the service records which puts it in Germany all of its life

Thanks for the input. There is both a GT and a GTS auto for sale just near me in Sweden, and I have driven a GTS manual (albeit a short drive). So may take a sneaky test drive of both today or tomorrow.

Just received confirmation that this one is Aventura Green.

There is no such thing as a GT automatic. All GT's were 5-speeds. All automatics in 1989 - 1991 were S4's...

Yes, I know sorry... meant to just clarify that the GTS here is an auto whereas the GT is naturally a manual

I love the interior of the '94. Having an Aventurine green '95 GTS, I find that an attractive color. Not flashy, but appealingly dark enough to almost look elegant - and it is fairly rare as well. Also, I personally prefer the Cup II wheels.

I've owned both 5 speed and automatics. For ~90% of my driving time in the car, I prefer the automatic. Yes, 5-10% the manual is more fun. Full use of using the automatic shift lever can make up for that! When it gets down to purchase of a nearly 30 year old car, however MAINTENANCE records could make the decision for me.

You have 3 wonderful choices. Let us know the decision.

Gary
