This car - 1989 S4 seems to be in very good condition and has had some performance tweeks. Diamond blue exterior, linen interior, 86K miles. In Salt Lake City. Older guy - like me - bought it and finds the Bilsteins are too harsh for his old body (I can relate!). I communicated with him, and he seems pretty straight forward.

Something odd. There is one picture of the underside that is a manual car with factory exhaust. The rest of the underside pics show an auto car with headers. One pic get mixed in by mistake or something fishy? You be the judge. And for $28k the seller should get the correct intake tubes and a jump post cover. Just sayin...
Anyone know the story behind the 1991 GT with 24k miles over on BaT? Lot 37643. Looks nice but no discussion of maintenance. No affiliation with seller.

Looks like a nice one.
I'd sure like to have it in my garage as Slate Gray Metallic is my favorite 928 color.
It was sold at the August 2014 Mecum Auction in Monterey for $57k.
At that time it showed 22,732 miles and the pictures supplied for that auction show the car with Louisiana plates on it.
My car might be for sale. It has all the right bits in all the right places*. Will check the miles when I'm back in TX, less than 100k on it though.
I'm the 2nd owner, had it for 20 years.
She will need tires.
* EDIT: I see my signature has changed after the purging. She is a 1978 #0941, bought in Canada (metric speedo). Her bits include: 300HP Euro CIS, '85 manifolds, Koni's/hypercoils, S4 brakes, stiff LSD, short shifter, etc. Also, her Idaho title says she is a 1974, so no smog check required at registration. Car is in San Antonio.
Friends, once again, my employers are moving me along. I've been having fun with my 1989 S4 hoopty parts car that I bought last year. I originally bought it as a parts car for a specific purpose; but my kids convinced me to go the other way with it for a while. Had fun using it as my daily, but I'm out of time on this one; so finally pulled the motor last week for its original purpose (the motor). Stone Gray Metallic. The PO scuffed up the paint on the front for some sort of paint prep, but it is original paint. The PO also had the interior (not to my taste really) re-done so is complete.
Anyway, minus the engine, I am selling the rest of the car. Here is the catch: If you want parts, you must buy the complete car.
I am not too far from Frenzy (like 100 miles) ; but alas, I can't make it there as I am spending time with my daughter at her college graduation ceremony (It was originally covid postponed). However, if you are attending Frenzy and want to come see/buy the car just PM me and we can work something out. I would like to have this car gone before I am transferred so that my wife doesn't have to deal with it while i'm travelling away. So again, I'm not parting out the car as I am out of time for that sort of thing; but PM me with offers for the complete car (minus the engine of course).
Well, it was fairly local so I picked up this car in PA and an engine in SC last week after talking to some very helpful folks at Frenzy. I'll be going through this from front to back after rebuilding the engine. Car appears to be in decent shape and will get a respray after she's back on the road. I just can't seem to stay away from these projects...just finished an '88 I gave to my youngest son as a college graduation present.
