Super impressive GT, surprised that cylinder no. 8 was out of spec and the heads needing new valves seals (I guess you might as well do them if they are pulled).

Well, just some observations here for those thinking about buying a GT.
It is highly improbable that this much car can be had any other way than by clicking the buy it now button. Assuming you can FIND a GT in half-way decent shape (the one above is more like excellent shape) for 30 K then buy 15k worth of parts, then refresh the paint and the interior for another 10k, you are at the buy it now price on this one, and you have not even started to pay for any labor. The real trick will be just FINDING a GT.
GLWS. If I did not already have 2 GTs, I would buy this one.

90 GT
Thanks for all of the comments guys! I’ve been dragging my feet on getting it listed anywhere but here as I had a few folks mulling it over. Hopefully someone will need it and it can find a new home. Hate to see it just sitting around as I enjoy my others! It will make an awesome car for someone.

This just popped up locally and looks pretty nice ... don’t know the seller since he doesn’t hang with local 928 gearheads. Judging by the background cars, he’s more airhead than gearhead.

Let me know if I you need some help evaluating.

I pulled a Carfax on this one ('82, white over blue, 5-spd, no sunroof) and can share but its clean, with 3 owners listed. It's been for sale for a couple of months. I kept checking on it as the TB broke on them and it has been "being fixed" for weeks. I gave up and bought Kawi825s 78.
It looks clean but no up close pics so hard to say. There is a 928 fan nearby, was going to look at it with me.

Ah Ed, you didnt see it. It was a low vin 78 (#4xx) silver, 5 speed with a pin stripe interior in lovely shape. Looked like an honest original and fairly low mileage early OB priced at $19k. If I didnt have a couple of nice early OBs plus a quiver of others, I would have tried to buy it (sadly Im letting non-car work get in the way of playing with 928s lately). The guy also had at least a half dozen very nice air cooled beauties in his man cave, stacked on lifts in Tiburon, CA (just North of San Fran).

well it's a higher mile (96,xxx), MY93 auto (not a bad thing but worth a bit less $ than a 5spd), needs some catch up maint, ex: TB, WP, etc., has not been changed since 2010 and leads me to believe the thrust bearing has not been checked, needs rear shocks, etc., and has had a few minor accidents..replacement front fender for one. On the good side...it's a GTS !, a beautiful color combination, and lots of new replacement parts as of late. If serious about this GTS, pm "Speedtoys" (Jeff) for his recommendation on a shop to perform a PPI in N. California. T

I think mid-30's is probably a fair price for this quality and mileage autobox GTS. But I wouldn't even pay that without a thrust bearing check first. I personally know of a GTS that had thrust bearing failure at close to that mileage.
