Here is an 82
with potential. Looks like an original interior with sport seats and a 5 speed. Maybe it’s a “competition package”? I’d be calling on this one if I hadn’t recently blown my budget on a little cancan.
With some ankle biter maintenance; I think this one could be something special! Probably need a closer look at that paint. The guy is asking just shy of 9000, but again, if the price was just negotiated a little lower, this one checks a lot of boxes.
Saw this very nice 18,765 miles 1987 928S4 coming up for sale, Original Schwarz paint. Interior is nice and original, but the dash I think has has been restitched and isn't a cover. I reach out to the guy for more details if its a cover or a restitch. Comes with original Reno Sqr46 and steering and a bunch of service records.
I would question the 18K miles. Looks like a dash cap. Paint has a lot of swirls.

Me to. I always question 928's with analog speedometers. You can sometimes tell by the condition of the car if it actually has those miles, but still I wouldn't count on it. With these analog speedos, the speedometer gear can break and depending if the owner cares to fix the minute it brakes or just leave for it to be fixed later. I don't know about this one, its questionable
I've been looking for a while now, but this one has my interest perked.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
DG
This car does look pretty clean but there are a few things in question. I don't think there is any way that engine bay is a 14k engine bay. The rear Hatch carpet also looks brand new - not sure why that would be necessary if it was a 14k car. The stereo head unit is not original. Not sure why the tire cover is all messed up and also not sure why the tools are in a baggie. They should all be in the rear hatch cover. Carpet on both door cards is also sticking out which indicates the doors have been taken apart. Difficult to imagine any of these items on a true 14k car.
IMHO - no way this is a $50k car. Maybe $20-25K tops (MAYBE). 83 is also one of the least desirable years.

Agree. Seats as well have been sat in for much more than 14K miles IMO.

I don't think its has 14K. I think what happened is that the speedo gear might have broke and then the owner didn't really care to replace right away and that the mileage is incorrect. Not really in dealership quality. The leather dash has been recovered. Carpets have been replaced and the original Monterey Sqr 23 has been replaced with a Blaupunkt Dearborn. Some of the speakers have been replaced and there are no wheel locks. Some of the decals on the engine are worn out and faded. I would have excepted it to have the original radio, wheel locks, original carpets, original leather dash and its just over priced. The car has been on BAT two times. In 3/9/19 it made $17,250 and then again in 9/17/19 the dealership that is now selling it only got $20,500 and still no sale. Its nice that its a 5 speed car, but its to overpriced and the I personally don't like that some has done all that stuff to a car that supposedly has "14K miles". Don't get me wrong I like it, but its not accurate and the price just needs to be lowered. The BAT auctions were around the correct price especially the 9/17/19 auction. I would value it around 25K-30K for the right price.
I am interest in this 1989 Porsche 928 S4 for sale. Looks to be in very nice condition. 74,861 miles. All original paint Schwarz over Cashmere Beige Draped leather. Front Seat redone by Classic9 leather. Very nice original condition.
