Pete, How'd it work between 1,000 and 2,000 rpms. The "Y" pipe may be the culprit as it's VERY wide where the pipes come together. Looks pretty nice.

It's great now, smooth an quiet when cruising and no resonance. I knew it would be as it's now the exact same setup I have in the Spyder. These cars are becoming fraternal twins - same wheels, same electronics upgrades, same.exhaust, similar seats, etc I guess I have a thing in how I like my 928s setup

Not specifically for the 928, but relaoded my stainless fasteners case that I use on all the cars. Have all different kinds of screws, washers, nuts, etc from M2.5 through M8 (less used M10s and M12s are in a different case).

Anytime I remove a fastener, I pretty much replace it with a stainless one with loctite or anti-seize depending on the application, as I'll be the one removing it again next time since I'll have these cars forever. I never deal with a rusted or seized fastener the second time around which is well with the cost difference in time and aggravation.

The exception being grade 10 or 12 high-strength fasteners like for seat mounting, seatbelts, etc.

I usually use these socket cap screws as their easier to get at on weird angles with ball end Allen wrenches.

Albany County Fasteners is my supplier as their quality is excellent and their pricing very good. If you compare these to the Chinese ones from Amazon, there's really no comparison.

Went for a drive to listen to supercharger noises

Recently updated with proper air filter and larger gap non-resistor plugs

Installed some inexpensive amber fog light lenses bought on FB from a guy in Germany-
nice quality

Warning-The small hex screws that hold the lens down need to be PB Blasted and can strip very easily without a proper bit-

If they're zinc plated and you want to give them that Porsche yellow/gold bling look, buy somesodium dichromate on ebay and give them a 20-30 second bath. 1 gallon distilled water
10 oz sodium dichromate
1/2 oz battery acid

Keep it in a seal jug and it will last years.

Good tip. I just use stainless as it looks like this forever and also comes out easier the next time. I've never had a seizing issue from galvanetic action on dissimilar metals either - maybe the stainless is less reactive even though it's still steel.

For what it's worth, we've had galling issues with stainless fasteners into stainless or aluminum at my work, though not corrosion.
Anti-seize paste is still generally a good idea.

Installed the remote power door locks into the 84 Euro S. Still need to hook up the rear hatch actuator but ran the wires for that too.

Refilled my 85 with R12. It leaked out over many years with 2 POs and still ran the compressor, so I just put some more in and it is icy cold.

Let's see how long the charge holds...

This never really occurred to me before, but I had a little "weirdness"...not a big thing...but enough to make me decide to think about it...pattern-wise I decided maybe something to do with Temp II. I did one just few years back with a new connector so I decided maybe just clean the connection....everything looked fine and shiny when apart but decided anyway to give both parts a nice bath with DeOxit. It really made a difference...I hadn't actually thought that much about this particular connection; I thought the wire-clip and weather seal type connector would be maintenance free...just the bath (no scrubbing I decided) and waiting a bit for it to soak in a little made a noticeable difference. Odd weirdness gone away but then when starting from cold all of a sudden big raw gas smell...and driving gave signs of heavy fuel...so decided to lean it out just a tad. No more raw gas smell when cold and better/smoother running when warm also. Just got back from a heavy run on one of our beltways....around 110 in 4th in several places and just ran like a watch...110 is about 5k on my tach. Stick it hard at 5k and it'll wail .

Going forward Temp II connection is on the list to be regularly serviced. if nothing else I believe probably benefits from just being disconnected/reconnected.

Letting the sensor side of the connection bathe in DeOxit for a minute or two then some gentle drying with compressed air and a good spray on the female side with same is our way now. Always grateful for honest comments.

...and to go along with the remote power door locks, now have remote hatch release installed and working.
