Default Brake line upgrade

Replaced the 40th anniversary brake lines with some nice stainless braided ones from the donor car.

^^^...lol...timely post...these four items crossed my mind several times in Pennsylvania, as the twisty/desending road asked for everything old red's 40 year old brake hoses could offer.

She still looks like this, so all's well that ends well.

Got the rear bumped mounted. Still need to get some of the nuts on the mounting bolts (tight fit in the wheel wells!), and get the bumperetts on, but at least the *** end doesn't look so ugly

Started working on interior light Gremlins. PO had unplugged about 10 fuses. Not sure why. Replaced all the fuses and I now have interior dash dummy lights. Still no backlit dash light (assume a rheostat of some kind bad)
Interior left and right door lights work in on mode but not from door open switch on doors(going to pull plunger switches and look for cracked wires and/or clean contacts).center and rear not working.(either plunger switch and/or bad bulbs)
Anyone know part # for courtesy light bulbs and where to purchase?

You can bypass the rheostat for the dash lights connecting the in and out wires together. That will tell you whether you're rheostat is bad or if you have a different issues. Dimmer is the wheel under the dash on the left side.

Thanks, I'll be doing that this weekend. Can I just use a 5amp fuse to connect the two wires together. I assume they are spade connectors or do I just strip and coonect minus a fuseable link of some kind

Just join them together, there's already a fuse.

Took day off because sports car...lol
Got up early this morning, made some coffee and dug into the electrical lighting issues in car. All internal courtesy lights now work. Combination of corroded contacts, broken wire on driver's side door plunger and one bad bulb.
All dash dummy lights now work. It instantly threw a "!"
"brake pad" light and the center console ! Came on. Pretty happy for the car to show me what's wrong...lol
Going to tear into the dash and find the rheostat and fix the backlight issue as well this morning.
Solved the sunroof not closing issue. Took switches out and sprayed contact cleaner on all of them. Opened up sunroof, WD-40 rails and de-greased them and cleaned all the hunk out. Put new lithium grease on rails and pulls. Exercised it back and forth about 10 times. Sunroof now opens and closes, smooth as silk..

Sound's like your making some good progress, well done, keep it up, you will get there eventually, these are great car's once reasonably sorted.
If your pod illumination works when you bridge those two wires together it usually points to a defective rheostat switch/wheel.

Installed Hans' new shifter...super sweeet!!!!!!

To the right of the clock is the very-very-rare early-1986-only-dealer-installed Zeisco egg timer, of course required for the glovebox-installed Zeisco egg-poacher! No real Grand Tourer is complete without one. Read 'em and weep....pleebs!!!
