So what did you do to your 928 Today......

Before even attempting to install them, I took them apart, cleaned and checked them. Couple bulbs were burned out, one of the gaskets between the lens & body was displaced (the bulb holder in that one was pretty grungy).
I had to dremel the head off one of the screws on one of the fogs, then drill out the other.
But all is good. Everything cleaned up nice. They are in and working. The trim with the cracks in it glued up really nice (I put a piece of cloth reinforcement over the back of the big crack).
Very, very, very happy to finally have the proper bumper lights in it. Took a bit of time to get all the corner markers working right too.

Had a little leak up top the other day. Today went in with weedwacker line followed by a little pressurized water, and now flow in the drains appears normal. Water now had egress behind the wheels.

Spent the day yesterday with a buffer and 3M products. The finish came out really nice. I hinted pretty heavily about needing a buffer with Father's Day approaching; I couldn't wait, so I borrowed my brother's old Black & Decker (patience is something I did not glean from my dad!)

Nate dash sensor update
Decided this would be a good afternoon project. Started at noon.
6:00 hours later it's completed. I really dread this project, but it went well.

95% done with my intake refresh and TB, WP, tensioner, cam gears and coolant bottle installation. A lot of tidying up of plug leads, some cables and p'coat the brace. Not all the best but good enough for me.
Now I just gotta work out what up with the trans and the fans.

On further attention to my sunroof drains, I had to come up with a fix for the disintegrated collars to the drain hoses. My solution for to use a nasopharyngeal airway tube to seal the hole in the body for the drain and have this tube extend into the hose in the pillar for the drainage. Should work. I'll see.

Window fixed but dead instruments
Finally got around to troubleshooting my driver's side window. After purchasing a new switch and going through the fun of unplugging the original to test the new one, I discovered that the original switch was still good; likely an issue with the leather surrounding the switch, not allowing it to make full contact. Took the time to also remove the door panel and clean all of the moving parts and regreased with dry lubricant. Amazingly, now the window works very smoothly and rather quickly.
As a bonus, less than 5min into my daily 20min commute, I noticed my dash gauges were dead. I contemplated turning around but continued as I did not notice other issues or symptoms. After getting to work without any issues (or pulled over), I quickly discovered that a simple 3amp fuse (#24) was the problem. Thank you search function!

Installed new Chin Spoiler. Much easier to do that than I anticipated. Looks great.
Secondly and sadly I listed her on Bring a Trailer. New job and too many vehicles in driveway pushed me over the edge. I'll be back.

Spent part of the day massaging the dead cow, or in other words, I spent the day rubbing leatherique into the seats with a white (very fine) scourer. I hope she comes up nice and soft and supple again.

Pulled part of the headliner to inspect sunroof drains. Attached, no kinks, no cuts. Added water and good flow to behind the wheels. No leaks. Guess my small leak is the roof seal.

I hate to admit it but the 928 is finally up and running from winter storage. After pulling the battery from another car going through the start up ritual, I went for a drive. After driving the Boxster GTS and the C2 quite a bit lately I found it took more time than I expected to reacquaint myself with the 928.
Initially I thought that there was something wrong until I got it onto some open road and was able to push the throttle past 50%. I forgot how it goes from around town mode to attack and jumps to life. I hate to say it but after being away for so long it initially felt so heavy and sluggish compared to the other cars. I had to lead a trek this morning to upstate NY so I took the boxster since it has GPS. The car is a blast to drive sounds great and it is so effortless in comparison.
The 928 on the other hand is abrupt and I hate to say is work by comparison. It took a while to get my brain back into 928 mode. Relearning shift patterns and handling characteristics took a little time but as I pushed more it started to open up and the feeling came back. I became lazy driving the boxster in sport plus mode it rev matches for you. I need to get out for a long drive now that all the sleepiness from hibernation is over for both the car and myself I plan on driving it much more.
