Shane--

I used a large three-jaw puller with just hand tension on the bolt to add a little pre-load out. With that, a few taps of the mallet got it loose amd started towards freedom. The hand tension is hand on a socket but no ratchet on the center bolt of the puller.

I have a large two jaw that would fit the diameter of the dampner but to get it in there would require pulling the rad. All the other dampners I've pulled just required a bit of tugging and wiggle to ease them to freedom. Helmut is being a bastard for me letting him sit for a year in need of a new water pump, me thinks... Perhaps I'll visit the local parts store and see if they have a puller that would fit, something like the old proto sets we had in Dutch.

I thought you were done already! It looks beautiful as is. But if you insist, I would go for the red.

I like your EURO85. Nice job. Another one saved!
Oh, and the tacho is fine: shows correct rpm at idle and hit the rev limiter when expected...
I tried again and did sbout 235kph om the satnav gps at just 4200 rpm. Then I had to slow down because of traffic. But before that she was still accelerating. That stretch of autobahn to essen classic motorshow is just to short to give it another go...
So, at what rpm do your S2's reach top speed?

Comming home from yesterday's Coffee and Cars (see http://www.vimeo.com/21858049 ) my alternator stopped alternating.... so today I put in a new one I happened to have on the shelf. And all is in good order again.

For a good grin from yesterdays people leaving the Coffee and car show check out this lucky GTO driver http://www.boostedimports.com/forums...ad.php?t=28445 candidate for a jackass award I think...

Replaced two electrical connectors for the fuel injector rail. 30 year old connectors can be fragile at times

Replaced the CPS, throttle quad to throttle body cable, and cruise control cable. Oh, and noticed when I put the wheel back on that the adhesive balance weights came off in the garage floor. Guess it's time to get those new front tires...

Finished (FINALLY!) wiring up the amps, speakers and install of the SharkWoofer. Replaced window switches, topped off PS and brake fluid.

Still need to do some more tweaking on the gains on the amps but other than that the SharkWoofer KICKS BUTT!

Still need to replace clutch master cylinder, have the parts but running out of time. Gonna give Sean a ring to see if he can do this week for me..

That is what happens when children (or adults who act like children) are given to much HP and to little sense! I saw this same kind of thing on you tube with a Ferrari...IDIOT and he was going much slower even than this guy, but probably did more $$$$ in damage I bet!

I washed EURO85 today and the drove it and got a big thumbs up from a WRX STi Driver (highly modded was probably SUPER FAST, but he didn't want to run me [good thing for me...he probably has 2X the HP of EURO85] he just wanted to look at the car) so that was nice.

Then noticed the light in the headliner at the windshield was not coming on and found out why...the housing broke... VERY COMMON, but I don't have a spare lying around right now...so no interior lights for the moment (or radio either...didn't realize they are on the same fuse). That is one of the worst parts on a 928 actually...those light housings are an embarrassment!

I did not get a chance to do anything on mine today.
did not get home from Emg till 6 this morning.

About the video, thanks for sharing. I would not call that a GTO or a judge. The real GTO had way more power and was a real car.

The junk GM sells now is a disgrace.

The new ones are 50hp stronger, almost 2 sec faster in the 1/4 mile and would run circles around the old one. There is nothing junk about these re badged Holdens. Selective amnesia is a wonderful thing.
