Didn't do anything "to" my 928 today because I live in Oklahoma and work in Ohio... Although I long to get my hands around that steering wheel after being away for two straight weeks the first thing I will be doing is checking belt tension... Light comes on at high throttle so I bought a kempf tool! It will be my first "repair" (besides the windshield wipers haha!)

Disks painting.

A bit of cleaning/painting to do in the wheel well and install these and I'll be ready to take her out of hibernation!

Doing my last few bits in batches/quadrants.

Today was Motorsports overflow tank (and coolant exchange- did plug drains after taking deep breaths), S3 to S4 windscreen washer tank and pump update. It was unfun, many sharp things. Will have to go address a few things that I couldn't get squared in available time, and I"m not sure the cap is rad sealing properly.

Set the time on the clock...and logged 207 miles on the rubber round things.

More tweaking of my sound system. The Sharkwoofer is thumping nicely, and I'm finally getting enough power to the rest of the system that I can actually hear it while cruising around with the windows down. I did have a problem though...something has caused me to only get tweeter action from my door speakers. That was working fine at one point, although I can't swear it changed when I started using the external amp. That's when I noticed it, but like I said...it was too quiet before. Weird that it's both sides though...I thought sure that meant it couldn't be inside the doors ('cause I didn't touch that this time around) but I've gone over everything else. GGRRRRR....I will have to pull the door panels again.....

Sent Carl some newly designed MSDS 32v exhaust headers with merged collectors, for test fitting +dyno testing.

Drove the last of the remaining 'winter storage' fuel with preservative in it, and installed new fuel. Oregon is one of the two US states where you can't pump your own fuel (hi NJ!), but the guy at the local station graciously allowed me to do it myself while he checked out the car. Then the log book... first tank of gas since last July. Filled the Honda too, first fill-up this year. Going tire shopping today for rears that should have been replaced at least a year ago.

There's a street show in Redmond next weekend. I -may- get it cleaned up enough to diisplay. Need to take another run at the driver's seat bolster again, now several years since the last repair.

Ran up to Mount St. Helens for a spirited ride (buck twenty plus) which could be closer to 130 on 18's I guess.

Well two days ago I clocked about 400 on the round rubber 18" things from Napa to Thousand Oaks and got my first speeding ticket .

Only took me 3 years of 928 ownership to do it. Can't they cut a college student a break :P ?

Otherwise I started to mount the 993 brake calipers I have up front, but hit a few snags in fitment. Still gotta change the oil, battery positive cable, add in the GB oil baffle etc.

Should be a busy spring break.

Thanks Mike, that sounds like a smoking deal. I've been quoted 10K to 15K here in Vegas.

Mike,
You and Joe need to talk to Tony to find out who is doing his paint. I think he's paying way south of that for window out color change.

John, Kevin Flynn's ( Hold On) son Andrew, has a shop in Phoenix and they installed a new paint booth a few months ago.

Kevin just painted his car after smacking that deer last year, and it turned out great! I'll prolly take it to Andrew, and let his guys work their magic. I trust them and they're great friends too. I was just trying to get an idea of what a real quality job costs these days.

See y'all at 3rd coast this year! It's been to long.

Just got through having Safelite replace my windshield for the low, low price of zero dollars (for me...I'm not sure what my insurance paid, but at least here in FL there is no deductible for windshield repair). It took three tries to get the right piece...the first two they were shipped were bronze colored with no antenna. They finally just called Porsche with my VIN and ordered it that way...proper green shade with antenna. Made by Pilkington (the cracked one said Sigla on it). Looks fantastic and clear. I no longer have big red letters spelling P O R S C H E across the shade...but I wasn't sold on that look anyway (my daughter does not agree, but it's not her car, so.... )

PS: Forgot to add...the guy doing the work is a former 928 owner! We chatted about the cars a bit, he apparently has very fond memories of them..

Removed Cruise Control Amplifiers from both the 86.5 and the 87, sent them off to Roger. He'll send me two working one soon, and then I'll have cruise control.

Fixed the short in my driver's door speaker in the 87 and went for a drive to the sounds of Appetite for Destruction.
